I have an idea for a new Christian animation (like Prince of Egypt). Disney should do it and call it "The Magic of Jesus". It starts with Mithraism, and goes through the ages showing the phony apostles like Paul being bigots and hypocrites, on to medieval priests raping pagan girls and mutilating pagan men to force them to accept Jesus and "Church Authority", and other foul practices like forcing sacraments down people’s throats against their will. Next show how as science progresses, “faith” becomes weakened, such as during the Age of Enlightenment. Then finally culminate to the 21st century to show how Christianity does not fare well in a free society with civil rights, where Christians cannot kill or rape people for rejecting their religion, and where the Scriptures are open to examination and scrutiny (and of course, this destroys the Bible), and found to be lacking. The end should have Jesus melting like the wicked witch from Oz: "I'm melting! I curse science! Ahhhh!" *poof*!

Can you imagine Disney doing a ride?
The Jesus Coaster! It could be like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, except start at the beginning of his "ministray" and end with his return as he flies through the sky, killing the anti-christ, the Chinese army and anyone else he doesn't like.
Maybe have him turn to the people in the ride after killing 99% of society and say, "Do you reject me TOO?" and fire comes out his mouth at them!

I love your questions (I think Satan is the Joker). And yes, a large part of society seems to enjoy nonsense.
Example: Mel Gibson's new movie, Apocalypto, is about the Mayans. Well, problem is the Mayans did not sacrafice people, the Aztecs did. I am sure there are more issues with the movie, but I do not want to torture myself.
I wish Mel would have stuck with Mad Max.

LOL. Will not happen though.
Have you thought of trying to produce it yourself? It could turn out to be an underground success.

Oh, come on now.. be somewhat respectful of other peoples' religions.. there isn't a single religion without some sort of tragic history.
We're moving past religion slowly into the sanity of understanding we don't need it to police our actions if we are realistic and know we make good and bad happen...
attacking Christians will just make a lot of people dig in and prevent the natural forward movement away from a need for an all powerful being... and accepting we are what and who we are due to our own actions and not inciting wars on the supposed calling to bring a particular religion to the masses.
It's going to be a long time coming as the Vatican is currently adding Christians to it's coffers in So America by the millions..
all in good time.. I'd love to come back in 200 years and see what society will be like..

An interesting treatment of historic events.
A more accurate portrayal of Jesus would show him weeping in the end. I don't believe it was his intention that his name be connected to so much evil, as has been done by Organized Religion.
Organized Churches have moved away from Jesus primary message of "love even your enemies, and charity to the poor". The message I hear most from preachers, on television anyway, is "hate those who believe differently, it's okay to be greedy".

Seriously? They have their dark moments and hints of spiritualism (The Lion King being a great example) but I think that's something that Disney wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.
The whole idea doesn't sound appealing either, it just sounds kinda brainwashing to me.

Well, that's okay if you're Christian. But from another standpoint, if a company wants to keep all of their customers, they can't endorse one religion over another. It's bad business.
I'm glad Disneyland doesn't have anything about any religion in it as of yet. I'd like to take any kids I adopt to a fun theme park without the heaviness of religion hanging over it.

Actually, Christianity is doing quite well in the 21st century.
Science is not the foe of faith. In 21st century America, surveys have always shown that the GREAT MAJORITY of people believe in GOD and an afterlife.
Atheists are and have always been the tiny minority.

Look, the last film that showed the truth about Jesus (Martin Scorsese’s “Last Temptation of Christ”) failed because Christians have no idea. So your film, while true and historically accurate, would fail too.
On the other hand, Mel Gibson, the idiot, made millions selling BS to sheep.

Your idea is not one that I would agree with , but it does spur another spark, idea. Why doesn't Disney do a ride , that shows the religous story ? Or a movie ?
