This is not a whine, or a moan, it's a genuine question.

Why is there such a large percentage of people in the R&S section that take great pleasure in A) pointing out any spelling mistakes and B) being completely and totally ignorant to the question and just leaving responses like "I can't be bothered to think about answering this question".

Is it boredom? Intolerance (the great hypocracy of religion!?) or is it the summer holidays and all the pubescent teenagers are on here because it's raining?

I cannot answer all of your question, especially the part which states: "I can`t be bothered to think about answering this question." It makes one wonder why they logged-on in the first place!
But I do and can see why some people wish to correct others in their spelling and grammar.
English spelling and grammar are the mainstay and basis of original teachings in school. If we should be good at anything, it should be those two subjects; and if a person cannot spell or write properly, it does indicate, maybe wrongly, that the person doing the writing is not intelligent enough to know how to use and describe his/her own language, or spell correctly.
In my own opinion, if a person cannot pay attention to the way he/she speaks or writes, he/she is not intelligent enough to be taken seriously. If he/she cannot express themselves, verbally or grammatically, they give a false impression, may be a wrong one, and should take the consequences.
However, my only concession to forgiveness, is right here on this site, because many times I have `submitted` a statement and found that certain letters were missed off or out of words I had typed; but I know it is because I am a 100 wpm touch-typist from the age of 16, and sometimes, when this site is over-crowded, the speed of reception is not always100%, sometimes quite slow and, at the risk of sounding big-headed, the system cannot keep up.
In short, bad spelling and grammar, to me, indicates that the person typing is not very intelligent and his/her written word(s) reflect that. Those who cannot express themselves fluently and properly are, to me, of low intelligence.
That is my opinion anway!!

I have no idea. There are many YA addicts here, who concentrate only on gaining point, some are simply rude, some are scared of the question itself so they try to find a fault in the questioner (that would be like 90% of cases :P) ...

Anyway, here's a big hug for you!

P.S. Mind cloning your wife? I have a brother in desperate need of such a specimen :P

Do you want a little cheese with that whine?

I went back and looked at your previous questions. You can't ask a question like-

"Do Christians Prey on Weak Willed Low Lives?"

and expect serious answers. When you are not asking a legitimate question, you should not expect serious answers.

What you have been doing is making Statements that are intentionally insulting to religious people.

Sometimes people's question are hard to understand because of spelling mistakes. I was called on it when I started and now I always use Spell Check. It prevents typos.

My guess is that people want to collect the points so they leave some kind of response.

2pts! WHOOO!!!

Okay, seriously. I think it's either that they want the points or they just feel the need to respond to everything. Some people truly feel that they need to be heard on everything, even if they don't have an opinion.

Take care.

The cause is Oringinal Sin
I find some of the irreligious people here often to show themselves as to be as "hypocritical" as some of the "religious' people.

Many people are also bored, shallow, mischevious, sneering,self-satisfied or ornrey.
Again ,Original Sin,"the one doctrine that can be proven by looking in the mirror"(GK Chesterton), is at the base,IMHO.

It usually is used against Christians when there are no arguements to be logically made, so they point out errors in hopes of making the person seem inferior intellectually.

because they are either :
annoying little [illiterate] brats who dont understand the question
or
pedantic control freaks that think they are better than everyone else

it also winds me up when they ask the same question as someone else [usually about 30 minutes later] because they are mindless and cant think of questions of their own yet !
