Use of Pressure Cooker is for saving burning energy. When boiled water’s vapour pressure is there, slow down Stove flame; just count time, depending on the item to cook. Do not let the cooker whistle. Counting of cooker whistles is only wastage of energy. Even most of graduate ladies do not know this. I request women leaders, writers and media to highlight this.

Appreciate your desire to educate pressure cooker users, this mode of cooking not only saves fuel but time as well,The correct method is to put on the weights when a steady stream of steam emerges though the vent, the moment you hear the whistle go ( a hiss actually ) you turn down the flame or heat to a minimum & check your time.Turn off the flame by the clock, most items need only a few minutes,a table is provided in the booklet that comes with the cooker. You are right counting whistles is a waste of time & fuel, don't know how this trend developed ,but many haven't even heard of the kitchen timer to regulate pressure cooker timings.

sounds fair.. but than checking the time every 2minutes.. dont you think it is easier counting the whistles and even a kid can help you with that :)... i try to steam some items without whistle but i will have to be pretty concious abt the timing.. will keep looking at the watch every 3-4 minutes though i need to leave the cooker on for 15min... so i some how think counting whistles is not foolish

stress cookers will shop you capacity out of your gasoline or electric range. in lots of circumstances they style extra beneficial as a results of fact it fairly is cooked with low fireplace. yet you ought to evaluate how lots it expenditures while in comparison with a classic cooker. regularly, they fee so lots extra. So it may no longer be so low-priced. gasoline is at the instant much lower priced, so in case you have a gasoline range, the discounts are not going to be extensive. yet once you have an electric stovetop, then, you may see some discounts. yet even this is small. in case you want to maintain capacity, do no longer use the A/C and alter your gentle bulbs to flourescent bulbs. Use double pane living house windows to maintain warmth in throughout the time of winters and funky for summer season.
