Christians say that God infinitely loves his children. However, he commands a sacrifice of His OWN SON to forgive people of sin they have never committed, which is Eve eating an apple.

If I truly love my children I would sacrifice myself for them, not to ask my son to do it!!

Also, what kinda of love is this that won't make you forgive you children just because Eve ate an apple!!??

I presume God and Jesus are one. That's the mystery of the Holy Trinity together with the Holy Spirit. So it goes also that God has come to earth only in the form of Jesus to redeem us from our sins. It has been in the form of a Father sacrificing His Son so that we humans could understand and clearly picture out the intensity of the sacrifice. Remember that Jesus was in human form so when He got up on the cross, the feelings He had felt were that of a human, that proves He had suffered greatly (imagine the pain and the humiliation). And also, by sending His Son, He had been able to reach mankind and left His will for us to live accordingly as revealed by the teachings.
It hasn't just to be magic or some instant abra kadabra. He showed us how He loves through that way- sending down His Son for our redemption.
Btw, the next step is to accept God's invitation by believing.
May you be enlightened... Good day!

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." "For the wages of sin is death." "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Basically, because of sin, we have to pay the price (death), but since "God is willing that none should perish", He made a way for us not to go through that death, by sending a spotless, sinless man to die for all humanity. So, because we have free will, He gave us a choice, believe in Jesus or not. He can't save us if we don't want to be saved.

You say He can do anything he wants, but that is a lie because He cannot sin, even if he wanted to. It is not in His nature, and against the very core of His character.

He didn't need a son, but we needed a Savior.

One last thing, He's not a god, He IS God.

God had his reasons. Backed then people lived differently and thought differently. To some people [present], sacrificing a human being is messed up. But people who were living during Jesus' time probably understood why it had to be done. Remember, back in the days sacrifricing was considered to be sacred. I guess God wanted to connect with people and make them understand better. Yeah, I'm horrible at explaining this, but I tried.

God made a covenant with Abraham, who ever broke this covenant the penalty was death, because Gods spirit was the one that entered between the animals that had been split in two, it was god who had to pay the penalty for the covenant being broken, so the penalty for braking the covenant has been paid by Jesus allowing all mankind to be redeemed even though they have sinned the price for braking the covenant has been paid

God sent his son, Jesus Christ to earth to act as human to save the world from sins before you were born.

God can save you from hell if you are not a sinner and have faith in Him and in Jesus Christ.

He can do what he wanted but He do not want to save sinners because that is punishment impose to them.

Before you came for existence and before the existence of mankind on earth God, the Father and His Son, Jesus was already existing. It is true tht God has no human instinct but he Himself said that he has his Son, Jesus Christ. Do not pretend to be intelligent than God because God is powerful who has no beginning and no ending. You should be thankful you were given life by him.

a Chritian may tell you tat he did this to show us his kindness and sympathy...I agree wit you tat he doesnt necessarily has son. it's jus like Heracles, son of Zeus in Greek myth. I think the idea is humanized to become some kind of teaching to convince ppl to sacrifice for your beloved. It doesnt matter if God truly exisit or if he has a child, it's the author of bibile who dramatized the teaching so tat the idea could be easily spread out. There is also a story in Buddhism that a monk fed a lion or tiger with his flesh, juz to preach the teaching of ahimsa

In the old Testament God spoke to His people directly. He directly guided them and even met face to face with Moses, but the Isrealites still rebelled. They would tremeble when God spoke and they were afraid to look directly at the fire which was Him because they would die. God loved His people but if you look back in the Old Testament no matter how much He blessed the Isrealites they soon went back to sinful ways. God is too Holy to be on our level...He is too perfect to relate too, He sent His Son to be on our level. People could relate to a lowly carpenter who spread God's message. God gave you the free will to either accept and believe in Jesus or not. It is the ultimate sacrafice to experience death and humiliation. There is nothing bigger that He can do. He died for our sins and you can either believe or not believe. Its your choice.

This is my opinion - not the voice of Christians.

First I believe in the Trinity - that there is but one God and his son Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all one entity.

When the original sin was committed God took offense at what his creation had done. They had turn from him to evil.

Later he took pity on them and he sacrificed himself in the form of his own son to win the souls of his creation back from evil.

Since God is everthing - Human & Spirit - his human self whom we call Jesus endured the sufferings of hell and the presence of evil to turn (or return) mankind back to God.

Remember that God did not kill Jesus - humans killed Jesus.

When you say God does not have human instincts - I believe you do not understand that God IS our insticts.

He sent His Son to die for us because He realized that animal sacrifices wouldn't be able to cover the multitude of increasing sins generation after generation because the animals used for atonement couldn't go lovingly and willingly to their death for us. They couldn't think or reason why this was happening and do it with unconditional love in their hearts. He had to become one of us in order to experience life as a sacrifice in the form of a man. He was born in a manger (like most animals are), He was kept, cared for and loved (just like the animals were) and He certainly was "....without spot, blemish or any such thing" (as was required by Law for the animals to be) He HAD to be raised JUST LIKE THE OT ATONEMENT ANIMALS were raised BUT with the added quality of unconditional love being the key factor in His ability to overcome His human nature, live a sinless life and STILL be able to give Himself FREELY and WILLINGLY.

God is a God of love, but also He is a God of justice.
He cannot tolerate sin, and before Jesus death on the cross, other sacrifices were made for sin such as animal sacrifices etc. Jesus is the sacrifice once and for all. He said on the cross "It is finished".
