Do you like your birthmark? Does anyone know what causes birthmarks to form?

I have two of them. I have one on the left side of my neck. It isn't very big but most people mistake it for a hickie...If I had a quarter for ever time I had one of those comments I would be rich! My other one is on my left shoulder blade area...it is just a decent oval size. I don't mind my birthmarks. They are unique to me and only me. The cause of birthmarks is unknown but it is a blemish on the skin formed before birth.

i have a small birth mark the lenght of my nail on my inner lower thigh. its like a couple shades lighter then my skin tone and quite small. now that i think of it, i do like it b/c no one else has that birthmark and it makes me, me! The cause of birthmarks is unknown, but may include cellular damage due to radiation or chemicals. Some types seem to run in families, most birthmarks are formed before birth it can be heriditary. good luck and like ur birthmark, ur the only one who has it!

Mine is a zigzag shape and is about 2-2 1/2 inches beneath my left collar bone. It's not big at all, you can actually barely see it. I like it.
Birthmarks form because of excess melanin in certain skin cells.

No but I have a tatoo with supercalafragilisticexpealadocious written on mini me-better than any birthmark me lovely!!

i have 2... one is on the innerside of my arm and looks like a cereal bowl about the size of a golf ball, and i have a smaller one on my thigh that looks like a crown. I have heard that birthmarks appear because of how you died in a past life. I totally believe this because my dad died from liver cancer and i concieved my son 2 weeks later. when my son was born, he has a birthmark right over his liver. freakie!!

yea, i have one about the size of a dime on the left side of my stomach. its like right above my thigh. i have light brown skin so its darker and is very distinctive. i like my birthmark! its not a nuisance and i dont have to worry about anyone seeing it. at least its not one of those HUGe ones that some ppl have.

yes i have a birth mark. its on the outside of my left armpit and is actually half the size of my fist. it looks like i ran through mud and forgot to wash my armpit.

ya, i have it. it is on my chest. not so clearly seen, just a little brighter than my other skin's colour. it shapes like a map.. haa, its true. just like the shape of africa map... thats all... i like it because i think it's what God give to me, and i am 1 in a million to have it...

yes i have a little brown butterfly under my right breast, its about as big as my little finger nail.......
