I have a panasonic home cinema dvd player. When i DVDs in to play and epsecially rental dvds it come up "no disc" having tried to read it. After sometimes many attempts of turinng the disc around etc it will eveltually pick uo the disc and then play it fine. Any ideas why it show "no disc"?

Buy a laser cleaner that can help sometimes rental discs can be damaged or dirty.

well from past experience i would say that one of the chip have been damged or laser not working probably if u ask me u should take it to your local computer shop or tc rapair where u can fix sometime if force has been put into your system it can damg or cut out the wire making it the circuit not complet thus better to fix it now then later because one day u might fined out that all system is werecked good luck and good bye

Most likely reason is your laser needs cleaning.
You can buy a kit and do it yourself, but sometimes they need a proffessional clean.

take player back, and get replacement. once there is a problem, never work well again.
