My ex-husband had a dream that our child and I were violently murdered. He then was involved in trying to catch the person who did it. We were not in our hometown when this happened in the dream and our deaths were three days apart, with me going first. Any ideas about what it would mean?

I think dreams of violence toward one's self or loved ones often indicate the dreamer's fear of being out of control or lacking influence over the course of his/her own life or the lives of his loved ones. Given the situation as you've described it, I think lyllyan's interpretation about fear of losing his ability to protect is a very good one.

The feeling to protect and provide is a strong one (you likely feel the same toward your child), and can be hard to let go of, particularly if he made it part of his identity. If he didn't, it could be coming from regret.

Or if you've been apart for a long time, something unrelated to you in his current life may have triggered a fear of losing control...the subconscious reaches back for something emotionally powerful (protecting a wife and child) in order to work through the stress of that fear in a dream.

Dreams that can be interpreted come from God. I don't think this one came from God. This one needs no interpretation. I can't be 100% certain that it is not God. The Lord usually saves people's lives at the last minute, not warn them to avoid a specific death. If fear is trying to control your life it is very likely not God.
It is most likely coming out of your ex's subconscious. Motivated by his present fears and insecurities. Right after my ex left me I had several nightmares, with a few recurring a few times. Under peaceful circumstances this will pass in time. I would talk to my pastor or priest if I was you and relate my concerns.

Sorry. previously I created Jesus, i attempted to create an incubus to pass down and impregnate Mary, in spite of the shown fact that it grew to become out to be gay and not fascinated. that's as quickly as I invented the Holy Spirit. besides, this incubus seems lots like Jesus, so because it particularly is in all probability who you observed, no longer the real Jesus.

Sounds like a good plot for a comic book.
