Write a letter to the judge or court who handed down the custody decision and tell them what is going on. Make sure you give your name, age and parents name and any info they might need if you have it.

I am the result of a custody battle and it sucks, I am feeling for you hunny. Do you guys have a family lawyer? You need to let authorities know of your step father's abuse. No one deserves such treatment of ANY abusive acts. If it takes loosing your mother who obviously cares about drugs more then you, then so be it! You deserve better then that. Have your dad help you. Asking for help will not get you taken away from him... Your happiness and safety is what you need to always remember is #1

Have your Dad file for full custody. You should be able to get in front of a Jugde and say your side. And if you Mom does drugs and your step Dad is abusive then call the police right away.

Have your father call the Social Services, Child Welfare Department. Tell him to explain what you are going through. Tell him to ask them if there is any way that you can be moved to your father's home. The only other way is to have you dad file for custody with proof of what is happening. If he can not afford an attorney, there are legal aid attorneys available. Have him call the District attorney's office in your area for the location of a legal aid attorney

I'm sorry that I'm not an expert in the law specially in your country, but I believe in most countries 18 is the right age to declare indepence from your parents. I belive that you are in such trouble right now and you wanted AWOL from your mother. At times turning your back from your problems doesn't solve them but rather make them even worse. There are times that you need to face your problems because thats the way it is. The best advice I could give you is to find your relationship with Jesus Christ, he can help you in times of your needs. If you don't believe in him or you don't have a God in your life, now is the time to reconsider. What if your too young to have your indepence in accordance to your local Law? is it the end? No its not you have a choice, somebody said the shortest distance between your problem and the solution is form your foot to your knee. If you have'nt prayed in you life now is the time and know Jesus, if you see your self going to destruction which is currently obvious then no can help you but Jesus alone. May God bless you and grant you wisdom to find the solution to your problems, face them and with Jesus you have the victory.

i also have divorced parents, and a step dad. they too have joint custody. your situation is so horrible, please do something as soon as you can. nobody deserves that sort of lifestyle. by calling a kids help line they can give you the information to find a lawyer or whatever you might need without ever finding out who you are. good luck!

it doesnt really matter how old you are...because all your dad has to do is let the court or child protection people know whats going on in the mothers household. try to catch them on video or try to get a picture of them. this will help your case. sounds to me like your dad needs to get more involved.

This is a prime example of Feminist Jurisprudence in the legal system, and the custody decision was not based upon competence, but rather upon the female gender.

it doesn't' seem like your dad are welcoming you neither. You have to be 18 , best 21 to be legally responsible for yourself. You might talk to your school social worker to see what might be your options.
