Should I go with him to talk to a priest

If you are asking about converting him, you'll get nowhere with a priest. It takes time. Just start asking questions abou their religious practices that you know have no Biblical base and then ask them how they justify doing things that are not listed or forbidden in the Bible. Most Catholics have no idea and will start to see the light. Approach with love not condemnation.

If your friend is Catholic, then I'm sure that he already knows a little bit about Jesus since that's kind of a requirement to being Christian. Anyway, if the two of you want to have a meeting with the Priest - go for it. I guess it depends on what exactly you want to discuss. Do you want to learn about the historical Jesus? That will be quite a discussion! Many scholars have been trying to discuss that for centuries. Bring along some Biblical Archeology Review magazines for discussion starters. Do you want to talk about the philosophy of Jesus? Bring along the Gospel of Thomas, Judas, and Mary Magdalene for an interesting debate.

I am a catholic. What would you like to know about Jesus?

How about just talking about what Jesus has done in your life lately. Maybe the friend has some stories to tell too.

Do you want him to convert you to Catholicism?
Why do you think he wants to convert to your religion then?
Why can you not be happy following your path and allowing your friend to do the same. I have never got a legitimate answer to this question (using a Bible verse is not a legitimate answer in my book).
BTW- I am a former Catholic and can tell you that not only do they believe in Jesus, they are (drum roll please) the largest group of Christians in the world.

Most Catholic Christians would love to discuss Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

What is the problem?

With love in Christ.

Sure you should. Why is he Catholic and doesn't believe in Jesus? wow so strange..Many people are so afraid of the Catholic Church.. It was the very first church in the history of religion. But what ever how nice you are worried about his walk.. ha.. you should be more worried about your own.

As it is with any. Get an understanding of what they believe first.
