I have the bottle and the velvet bag, but no box with it.

There is nothing particularly special about the whiskey since it doesn't age in the bottle.

However since the bottle, box and bag are nice and the original distillery burned down in 1994, people will pay a premium for it - recent bottles for sale on the Internet have sold for between $50 and $150.

If it was bottled in 1971 it came from the Waterloo distilery so it would be comparable to Crown Royal XR which sells for around $150.
I'm not sure you could get that kind of money for it because it would be hard to prove it's age, and XR comes with a special bottle with a "crystal" stopper and a red velvet sack.

I found a 1971 bottle of Crown Royal when I cleaned out my grandfather's house after he passed. That was 10 years ago. Every once in a while I think about cracking it open.

Whatever value you would place on sharing it with a few friends. Whiskey doesn't age or get more valuable once it is bottled.
