Spring Valley, N.Y., Mayor George Darden won't be facing state civil or criminal charges for hiring illegal aliens to work on an urban revitalization project in his village, but Department of Labor officials informed him yesterday that the $10 an hour he paid 10 men doesn't comply with the state's prevailing wage law and taxpayers will have to pay the illegals the difference of about $30 an hour.

THe project recieved federal funding so hopefully the mayor face criminal charges from the Feds. As for the illegal immigrant's they should be paid the money due , before they are deported, and since they worked on a federal funded project, the Feds really need to deport them. Of course the question is if they're stupid enough to collect the money owed.

I gotta agree with Slew again, pay them then deport them.
Put the mayor up on charges and fine him for whatever was paid to the illegals and find 10 Americans looking for work in construction and give them the mayor's money.

I guess you checked their papers right or is it a story you've heard from someone?LOL))) Lame get a life,get education and you won't have to worry about people like that,or you can become a politician,either way do you really believe everything news papers write? Oh and not to mention that illegals were driving wages down,minimum in NY is what?Well I can tell you it's not $10 it is actually lot less so here you go,they'll get paid $40 minus the taxes etc. because city will deduct your taxes so they will pay even the taxes OMG illegals are going to be paying taxes call the media!!!
