Okay, so what kind of things can I send my boyfriend who is currently training in the army? I know I can send letters, but what other kinds of things can I send?

Do not send food. That's only going to get him into trouble.

Basic and boot camps are like Detox facilites. No caffine, No sugar. They eat what they are given. Don't even bother sending CD's either. He wont be able to play them.

Cards, pens and paper he will be able to buy on post during his free time, or they will be supplied to him...so stick to sending letters and photos. That's the best you can do for now. Also-phone cards are great too. It's always nice to hear a familiar voice of a loved one, even if only for 20 minutes.

If he's in basic, cards and letters will suffice since there's hardly any room to store things and they can't decorate their space, besides he'll graduate and move to his new post and can't be overloaded with " stuff ".The best thing is to ask him what he wants, needs and go from there.

Calling cards, stamps, writing paper, pens, small special treats that he enjoys a lot while he is at home and can't get them while he is away. (Like Dove chocolate)...books, pictures of yourself and him, aspirin, homemade cookies, candy, a lot of personal stuff that you make for him- he will charish more than store bought.
