I thought about this question for only a split second and I knew what it meant to me. It is the love I have for my son. I would walk through fire for him. There is nothing I wouldn't do to help him. He is the most important person in the world to me, and that includes my husband and my sisters, all of whom I love fiercely, but not like I love my boy.

I can't explain it any better than that. My mother had 7 kids and she was an alcoholic who never recovered, so I don't know if she felt that way toward me or any of my siblings, but I know that I feel it for my child. Nothing else comes close.

(Trinity, dear one, are you feeling any better?)

Bright blessings and love,

Love others as you want others to love you. If you make that as a golden rule, then your love is conditional in that you would love so that you would get something, which is love, too in return. But if you make that as a guide, it's an unconditional love as it guides you on the kind of love that you would give that is according to your understanding and capacity and without expecting anything back. Unconditional love is purely giving love without the reason or expectation of having to receive back for what you gave.

My first thought when you said unconditional love was my dog, Dickens. He loves me no matter what, doesn't care if I am in a bad mood, never judges me, stays close to me when he senses I'm upset, never blames me for anything, is always faithful, never cheats, never lies, and is always ready to cuddle with me on the couch! I love people but there aren't many people that can give that kind of unconditional love. ----- Blessings!

Unconditional love is love without conditions. Love despite of.
To love someone despite they have hurt you.
This is Jesus kind of love, for the prime example is what He has shown us - He died the just for the unjust, to bring us to God.

What do I think of when I hear the term Unconditional Love?

God's Love for humanity!

The world as a whole doesnt know of Unconditional Love, we see it daily on our local news stations.

We can say we do. And at times some of us show unconditional love.

But then there are times, and incidents, where unconditional love, takes a back seat, because of human nature.

The lost of unconditional love is one of the signs pointing to and signaling the return of Chirst.

This is the messages Jesus was trying to warn us of, in Matthew 24:12, when he said; "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Now the original word for iniquity is "anomia" pronounced an-om-ee'ah and means illegality, ie violation of the law.

First, the word anomia in the original, stems from a condition of "without" law. Be it ignorance of the law, because of violating the law, or diminishing the law. This is speaking of Civil Law.

Second, anomia, implies "contempt" and "violation" of law, resulting in "iniquity" and "wickedness." This is speaking of the contempt and violations of the Laws of God.

Here, Jesus was warning us, about the spirit
of "lawlessness."

Because, it carries the connotation of a "liberal theology" that teaches that the laws of God are done away with. What we are seeing taking place in this Nation is, the results of what happens when the laws of God are pushed aside and said to be done away with.

And, once this spirit and theology of anti-law takes roots, the love of many turns cold.

Jesus says "because iniquity "lawlessness"
and "wickedness" shall "abound" i.e "increase, multiply, take deep roots" the "love" of many shall wax cold.

What is the connection in the spirit of anti-law or lawlessness, and love waxing or turning cold?

The connection of the two is seen in the physics of "cause" and "effect." It's the cause and effect between lawlessness and God's Love.

The original word for love used here is "Agape." Meaning "Unconditional" a Godly love.

The kind of love that comes from God. When someone
begins to break the laws of God, in the spirit that Christ has in mind here, the love of God, and love of the truth will diminish in them.

Christ is warning His people throughout the ages not to fall prey to an anti-law attitude because, first of all, it is not what God commands in the Scriptures, and second, it will lead to a gradual breakdown of the true Godly love that can only come from Him.

For the agape love of God does not flourish in a disobedient and lawless people! "When God's laws are done away with, by default, sin and lawlessness gradually takes deep roots into Society!"

And a Nation without God's Laws, is a Nation, taken over by Satan, and the fruits or deeds of sin. i.e Wickedness and Lawlessness. (Anarchy, Mob Rule, Wars.)

I myself am a Baptist. But I dont get caught up in denominations.

I believe there are some in each that truly love the Lord. And the Lord see's the heart.

Good question!

I think non-judgmental, pure, non-circumstance based, constant, enduring, patient, unselfish Christlike love, that can't be earned and is freely given.

When I hear it I think we as humans are incapable of giving it to others.
God is the only one who can love us unconditionally.
