I'm getting braces in 15 days and my orthodontist said i'm getting rubber bands in my mouth w/ the braces.. what does this do to help your mouth out? can you notice them>?

They allow the orthodontist to arrange specific teeth or groups of teeth slightly differently than the rest of your teeth. If you have teeth that need to move more than the others, like I did, you will have some rubber bands. If you've had braces on for a few months already when you get the bands, like I did, you can barely notice them. When you go for braces the first time you should definitely take some medicine about 15 minutes before you leave your house. Also cook soft food for two days, or ask your parents to cook soft food for you if you still live at home.

they aren't anything big, Ive had them fr like 6 months, and i get my braces off in 10 days, the are uncomfortable at first but you get used to them just like the rest of your braces. you ll be fine! best of luck

It's for traction on the teeth... No biggie

it pushes your mouth back so you dont have an overbite..yes you can see them.. yes they hurt.. i have them and they suck
