I don't think your dad knew he was going to die, but the men and women that go to Iraq know that it is always a possibility. Your dad most likely wanted you to always love life, and live it to the fullest even if he didn't come back home.

interesting that i should read this question since i've had the dance in my head the last 3 days along with if tomorrow never comes. I think everyone has a sixth sense and yes he may have known something was about to happen but he accepted it with open arms.

I had a very close friend that was killed at work, we worked together , and when they come and got me to tell me about the accident , when I got to him, they were trying to resuscitate him to no avail , he passed away . They played the Dance at his funeral . It was one of his favorite songs. Every time I hear the song to this day , I think of him and still cry. His little daughter is my husband and I god's daughter. and when she hears it, she will say that was my daddy's song. I am so sorry about your father , I know it is hard and that you miss him, but as long as he stays in your heart , he will always be near you.

some people know when they are going to die, not an exact date but they know if they are going to live a long life or not
i heard about this girl that she died about 16 in a car accident and acouple days before that she wrote a letter to her family and friends that she knew she was going to die soon and told them she loved them all and left it in her room.
sorry for your loss<3

He may have subconsciously that isn't an uncommon thing. My brother was killed last month and he paid off many debts and got some life insurance . this wasn't in his normal ways.
