Why Doctors do not donate blood? are there any disadvantages?

Really it is not true. There will be a reason for that. because Doctors are always contact with patients. So there may be some possibilities to enter some germs to their blood and can not be identified before about 3 days. So better Donate blodd if they did not meet patients for few days.

I've donated blood 18 times so far. There are many other doctors who regularly donate blood.

I think it all depends on what field of medicine they are in. If they are in contact with infectious diseases on a daily basis, I don't think it would be a good idea for them to donate blood since most diseases take an incubation time of at least 3 days to make one 'notice' that they are sick.
