Hi, I have a dodge ram with the 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel, i have it modified to push about 100 hp over stock, and about 190-250ft-lbs over stock, will my stock tranny be able to hold up to this, and if not...what should I do to make it hold up??
I am done modifying the engine's performance and MUST do something with my tranny if I have to. I tow once in a while, but mainly highway and in town driving..... Anything would help!

I would consider putting in a better torque converter before the transmission fails.Torque converters are the weak link in all of the big threes diesel autos.Try banks or some of the other performance parts distributers for pricing and the one that will best suit your needs. Also don't forget to change the filter and fluid every 20,000 miles to increase your transmissions longevity.

Im going to guess that you have a second vehicle that got you around while super charging your truck.. I would just drive the trucks tranny into the ground till it gives out then rebuild it while you putt around in your jalopy. you wont be using that upgrade that often on the busy streets we are all quarantined to abide by... So goodluck with your restoration project

after engine modifications, you should really think about getting a heavy duty transmission cooler installed. I used to work for UHAUL, and as you may know, we specialize in hitch installations. You should also considering a transmission flush.

call up jet performance, and tell them your engines power, and predicted needs. they will rebuild a transmission that will handle the power easily, and will probaly be the last transmission ya buy for the truck
