Witches, Wizards, and Magic are a religion called Wicca. These people believe in spirits and nature for the most part, but many Christians associate this is satanism, which is not true. Because of the fact that these people do not research their religious intolerance, they do not understand what they are actually boycotting. They also feel that their children are going to leave the Christian faith and start to enter the religion of Wicca, and would rather shelter their children rather than let them make their own decisions.

The people that say that it is evil probably have not read the books, or seen the movies, and therefore are uninformed. These are the people that are weak minded and need to be told what to believe in. You will notice that many Christians praise the Harry Potter series for it's writing, it morals, and the fact that it supports strong family values. This is really a case where a few people on the fringe of being religious conservatives made a stink that happened to stand out.

Some fundamentalists are not happy with just not reading the books themselves if they disagree with them They are more concerned in making sure no one can read the books, thus shoving their beliefs down everyone else's throats. The fact that they are protesting this right now, while saying nothing about the genocide that is taking place in Darfur speaks volumes of their priorities.

Christians, no matter the sect, find evil in many things..hell, Walt Disney had "sex" written in clouds on one cartoon according to some nutty Fundies. Ignore this crap and lead your own life.

they said the same exact thing about Star Wars 30 years ago.

certain facets of Christianity hate imagination, and hate anything that suggests a supernatural element that falls outside the boundaries of Christianity.
