Pope- Christ's Representative on Earth
Cardinal- traditionally vote for pope
Archbishop-in charge of more than one diocese
Bishop-In charge of diocese
Monsignor- a priest with a special title
Priest/Monk/Nun
Acolyte- like a speacial altar server
Layman

The government of the church is a heirarchical form of government.

You go from top down:

Pope
Bishop
Priest
Deacon
Laity
