The god of the bible kills. No god of such power would ever need to kill.
Also, if our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable. In other words, if our universe had to be created by a god, then isn't a god existing before the universe's creation that much more crazy???

We are all Atheists about most peoples Gods. You yourself probably don't beleive in Thor or Zeus. That makes you an atheist. Amazingly, over 85% of people who are religious choose the religion of their parents. So all moms and dads are right, be they christian, jew, muslim, hindu, buddhist, etc.
except Catholacism is the only one according to the pope.
There are a lot of them out there to choose from. We Athiests just don't care for the baseless argument that each of you somehow magically picked the one and only true answer and the condescending attitude that everyone else must be wrong. I base my understanding of the world on what is knowable and for that which is unknowable I accept the fact science has yet to discover it. I don't fill in the blanks with 2000 year old fables...er, correction, make it 1700 year old since none of the new testament was written till hundreds of years after Christ's death. You pull that one off. Write me a detailed account of say, the guy that wrote the Magna Carta. That would be about the amount of time that had passed from Christ's death to the writing of the new testament. Did this help?

The Bible makes the most sense when you see that it is just the legends and myths of the Hebrews. Jehovah is no more believable than Zeus. The morality taught in the Bible is no more moral than morality from other sources, and is often less moral. There is no objective evidence to support than any of the miracles of the Bible ever happened. There is a great deal of objective evidence that contradicts claims made by the Bible.
The most sane point of view is that that everything in the universe is subject to natural (physical) laws and that there is nothing supernatural that violates those physical laws, now or at any time in the past.

Why do you think you're right when it could easily be Thor or any of the other countless religions with answers to everything? The Bible has so many contradictions and prejudices against different groups. I have a hard time believing it came from a loving and sinless being.

Denial of the basic rights of women and gays. The Bible is the most gender-biased and sexist book on earth, it is far worse than Hustler and Playboy and has done far more damage to women for 2000 years. The Vatican is the most sexist organization on earth. They deny women our rights, deny that we have intellect equal to men, deny our abilities and deny our equality.
Then there's this believing in fairy stories thing.

I'm not an atheist, but...
I think Christians are wrong in purporting their way to be the only "proper" way, that others are "evil." That any way could be the "only" way, to me, is inherently at odds with the universe itself.

I don't think the concept of god is "wrong" because there's no evidence for or against it.
But most of the Old Testament is clear Bull, yet people try to force me to believe it as fact.

Jesus failed the messianic prophecies.
If Judaism is false, then Christianity and Islam are as well.
If it is true, Christianity and Islam are false because they contradict Jewish prophecy by both claiming Jesus was HaMosiach.
Simple enough?

You believe in fairy tales, written at a time when men had not the scientific knowledge, so made up their own explanations.
We now have the means to examine large portions of the universe. Please tell me where Heaven and Hell are located so we can aim our telescopes there.

The bible contradicts with reality and itself. That's the main reason.
The morality of christianity (infinate punishment for a finite act) is horrible. That's another one.
