What does everyone really think of Mormons?

I was born and raised in the L.D.S. (Mormon) Church, and I am proud of it. My Dad taught the religon by example. The way he lived was the way that we were taught. He loved God and Jesus Christ, and had a very strong testimony of the Gospel, even on his death bed.
I believe the L.D.S. Church is the true church of God and Jesus Christ. There are a few things that I don't understand about it, and when I meet God on Judgement Day, I will ask Him.

I have known mormons to for the most part to be very nice people, but lose that goodness with all of the judgement. They judge each other and themselves too much. Of course like every religion they start with a good intention but push too much to get people to join and then just take things too far to the point of brainwashing them.

I was a mormon for 15 years I was excomunicated when at a church function another member took advantage of me then I started to wonder why was this my fault and why were they not supportive to me I wasn't at fault. They are sexist why is it that only men can have the priesthood and why is a womans highest calling is to be a mother? Why can't you choose what you want to be? They are racist especially against black people but basically about anyone that is not mormon and they think they are better than everyone else, this of course is soft peddled with "we only have more information" but it is really that they feel superior.

Also I watch my own family and others waste their life lving only in what seems like waiting for the after life. They are too strict and don't allow for people to learn and from their mistakes instead they would rather gossip, labble, and judge each other.

I have been on this very hard road of trying to undo what has been engrained in my mind or brainwashing or indocturinations and the judgement. It is so hard because it is hard to tell what you really think and what you have been told to think I am 25 now and I have spent the last 4 years yet I feel I have only begun to scratch the surface and start to think what I really think and know who I am not what they told me to be and feel.

ex-mormon, mormons believe that they can become gods and the ones in my ward seeme to think that evolving into a God and having the priesthood (or for women, already being spiritual) meant that they had godly powers like a superhero, or a demi-god or that they were already a demi-god. This is all like some fantasy world created by the mormon church.
I also notice that some mormons also free themselves from reality by dissassoiation, they spend so much time putting on a happy face and looking good inpublic, and then being themselves behind closed doors that they start to loose memories and start forget where they put things, they disassociate and it becoems a disorder.

First off, what kind of question is this? Are you 12?

What do you think about birds? Exactly ... lots of birds in the world. Some are annoying, some are pretty, some are little, some are big. Some sing, some don't.

Start thinking outside of the box. That's the only way LDS church members will ever get any respect. It's not all about you! In the real world, the majority of us aren't Christian! Eeeek!

They are generally more intelligent and harder working than other religious people. They represent the best family values in our society. They don't believe anything more outrageous than any other religion. I am glad they are here. I am a former Mormon, current Atheist.

I've had several Mormon co-workers and friends, and they've been quite polite and easy to deal with.

That they are cool and nice. All Mormon people I've meet (even online) are very nice people and very friendly by the way. I love their example!

I think that they're gradually melding in with white bread, evangelical protestantism. It's a shame that a religion based on a fusion of the Bible, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, Freemasonry and UFOs is ashamed of its peculiar occultish character.

Maybe it's just so overboard that Mormons can't even take their past seriously.

They're usually nice enough people, but I believe that their church is quite exclusive and that the guy who founded their church was a persuasive schizophrenic who wanted to have sex with a lot of women. He made up the "God told me so," stories to justify his desires within the society.
