The purpose for each life is different.
But you can be sure that God has a destiny and a plan for you.
Jer 29:11
`For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, `plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

there are two basic reasons
one is physical, the other is spiritual
we find pleasure in so many things, for example when we eat food that we love, or watch movies that we like or when we are with our good friends, but this is not the purpose of life, pleasures in life are here so that we strive to live, so that we dont commit suicide, if we see no more good things, if we cant eat the food that we like, we cant see the things that we want to see , then mostlikely we will choose to die
so what then is the real purpose of life? to be punished, this is the real purpose, one of the two, to feel the pain, from birth, growing into adulthood, we experience many kinds of diseases, physical pain and also the mental and emotional pain that we feel when we have problems in school, when someone that we love dies , when dealing with personal defects, etc etc, the nerve endings in our skin and all througout the body serves as pain channels, that is for us to feel the pain, we all have pain and sufferings in this world, no question about that
so thats one thing, to feel the pain or to be punished
then the last thing or the second one or the second purpose of life is for us to have a chance to get back to God, we can do things in this world that will make us, when we die, go to God, different beliefs, the muslims, hindus, christians, etc, but they all want the same, to go to God when they die

Most people get over it by the time they are 18.
The purpose of life is to be lived. Anything above and beyond that is up to you.

Jesus was talking to Moses when he said (Moses 1:39) "For behold, this is my work and my glory---to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."
What is our purpose? To work with our Saviour Jesus Christ so we may gain eternal life. Because of the resurrection, we have all been given immortality. Through the Atonement (Grace), and with true repentance, we will be given our reward in Heaven.
It's really very simple. We just have to do our part.

I think it's quite simple and can be summed up as follows:
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."
The point is how you treated others as you went through your life. That's how you leave your mark. That's what it's about.
