I used a Cicero recovery disc and loaded Windows XP in default settings, but when i start up my computer again it gives me 3 choices:
Windows XP Home edition ( currently using )
Windows XP Home edition ( want to delete )
Windows XP Home edition ( full of viruses, want to delete )
Previous operating system on :C

I am also using a pirated version on Windows XP
I asked this before but I still havent been able to figure this out.

Simple answer: don't pirate software unless you know how to protect yourself from viruses. In fact, just don't!

Long answer: You apparently reinstalled XP on top of XP, and you are now being asked which one you want to boot (you are dual-booting). You need to back up your files, format the hard drive, and THEN install Windows.

let me ask you this? do you want to remove those items from the startup list....remove the older installs....or completely clean out the drive?

Choice 1 - Right click my computer, click properties, click the advanced tab and click settings under startup and recovery, reduce the time down to 1 sec show or 0. That will limit you from even seeing the list. Or you can edit the list and remove the ones not needed.

Choice 2 - A little tricky, would involve booting to the current install and then deleting the other installs one folder at a time. Time consuming. pain in butt.

Choice 3 - Save all the files you want to keep to a CD. Reinsert the recovery CD, when it asks if you want to reinstall, choose yes, choose not to recover an older install, and then elect to choose the place to install. It will list the C drive, as a partition. Delete the partition, then recreate it, format it, and continue to complete installation. It will remove all the other options from the list too...normally.

Need any more help just message me using my profile...good luck!

download dban, or active kill disk these will both low level format your hard drive then you can load whatever version of xp that you have.
I use a floppy drive in all my computers so from A: prompt I can use the win 98 boot disk and go fdisk/mbr as well.
This will make sure that when you load windows on the formated hard drive you only have the one option in the boot menu
Any problems get back to me

You're already using Windox XP Home edition. So, what's the problem? Isn't that what you stole?
