well the obvious answer would be yes, as the Holy Spirit being one of the three forms of God, and God having perfect knowledge of everything, and everyone, it would stand to reason that even before baptism the Holy spirit knows who you are. But when the day of judgment comes and Jesus says that he did not know someone, that isn't to say he didn't know who they were, but rather that he never had a relationship with him, which is what's neccessary if you intend to enter heaven some day.

I'm a hetero bloke - I don't dig ghosties and things getting into me.

It sounds like a fairly silly question that wasn't thought out well nor was it looked at logically.
I'm wild-guessing it was a typical Xian question.

How does the Holy Spirit (HS) get in you in the first place?
Does he have to recognise you.
I thought The Trinity was one and the same in that the HS is God is The Son. If that is so where's the problem?
I was lead to believe God knew everything.

Yes, The Holy Spirit is the invisible nature of God. Since God is All Knowing and Wisdom comes from the Spirit of God, then 'one' can conclude that 'they' are fully known by Every part of God. Even before they're born!! The benefit of being 'filled' by the Holy Spirit of God is, it is evidence of a new 'nature of life' within you. One that is spiritual and gives you access to the 'privilages' of 'sonship'. It is referred to as 'being 'born- again'.now as a child of God, not just of woman. That's only the beginning!

The Holy Spirit used to dwell with him, but I gave him an eviction notice.

I find a few Carl Sagan books works on him like garlic on a vampire.

What has baptism got to do with it? nothing. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts the heart of the nonbeliever urging Him to accept Christ as their savior. When we do accept Christ we become "born again". This is our spiritual birth, this is when God sends the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in the heart of the new believer. He remains there forever.

The Holy Spirit knows of the existence of all people.
He will only anoint those that are His.

I would say yes because the Holy Spirit knows the moment when you accept Jesus as Christ and your personal savior.
