Because god likes them better, and rewards their unbridled faithfulness with continued blessings of wealth, prosperity, and white skin.

Not necessarily true. However many times men who are talented and skilled in business management and are business owners, bankers, doctors, lawyers, etc. are chosen as bishops and stake presidents and other church leaders.probably because of their managerial skills and talents in working with people. Most bishops I know have regular jobs, regular, families and serve for five years as bishop in addition and the time required in the church ministry he has (which is unpaid) takes almost as much time as his regular job, usually about thrity hours a week or more. My brother is a bishop right now. He is 42 years old and has six kids. He works as the advertising editor of a local newspaper and makes an average salary. His wife has a lot of responsibility to keep things running at home. Most bishops and stake president's wives do not work outside the home unless they don't have kids still living at home. My brother in law is a former bishop. He is a security guard and head custodian at a high school, and so he actually makes a rather modest salary. My husband has never been a bishop, but he has been called as a "bishop's counselor" of which there are two in each "bishopric" And the responsibility that he had was often just as time consuming as the bishop. I was working at the time also but still had more responsibility at home because my husband was simply not there except on monday nights, saturdays and an occasional friday night when we would try to have our "date night" I had three teenagers still in jr and high school at that time. My husband is a geologist, making a ltttle above average salary.

My first bishop was a cop. I didn't realize they got paid that well.
I assume that when these callings go to experienced men who have reached a degree of personal success, there will be back biting by those on the fringes. When I see the time and effort they put into the calling, I just appreciate them for what they do.

I was a member of a Spanish ward for most of my time in the church, and it's a lot different than the English side. On the English side, that's usually true. On the Spanish side, not so much.

do you have a source to back up that they are wealthier then the rest of the members? I would think not. I am not a mormon but I do think that religious leaders should be well taken care of.

They never pick the poor people to be bishops. In a small town, it's usually no mystery who the next bishop will be. The mormons would gossip about some poor person being bishop, and it would always end up being the other candidate, with money. They tend to pick successful business people. If they put them in a position like this, they're more likely to stay in the church and keep paying them money.

It requires a lot of time and sacrifice to serve the Lord. Usually, those who are financially stable would be fit for such a position, rather than someone who has bad financial problems. But it's only one factor. The Lord can choose anyone he wants.

They aren't. The do not get paid for their services. And do not keep any money of the churchs. They have regular jobs as well. Not all bishops and stake presidents and wealthier, you might want to relook what you believe.

They arent.
Although if they were it wouldnt be surprising the same skills and abilities that make people wealthy are useful in organizing and leading people.

Are you sure? That is not a valid statement. Do not stereotype, maybe you had a rich stake president or bishop but that does not mean that all of them are.
