If you are getting your dog wormed on a regular basis I wouldn't worry about it. It is disgusting, I know, but cat crap is a doggie delicacy. Rolling in cat or dog poop or other animal's poop or dead carcass is something dogs will do, too, if they have the chance.
He shouldn't get sick or anything, but it will probably make you feel better to get a toothbrush and clean his teeth and give him a good bath.
My dog rolled in some a few mos. ago while out walking on the leash and was in trouble with us. She went straight in the bath tub and got thoroughly scrubbed and rinsed twice. She hasn't tried it since then.
To stop this habit, you'd have to use a squirt bottle or say no, shake a can of pennies, something to stop the dog before it happens or as it happens that the dog will associate with rolling in the poop so it will STOP.
I keep a watch on my little poop roller (common dog habit) and she hasn't tried it since.
The origin of this seems to be from dogs ancestry as wolves will roll on carcasses or on feces of other animals to mask their scent so they can sneak up on their prey. Some animal behaviorists believe dogs do it now to show off where they have been.
It's a nasty instinct, a stinky instinct, but you can train your dog to STOP!

No, he can't get sick. Our old dog used to it it sometimes and she had no problem, but do expect your dog to get sick maybe since it's his first time. Even though he can't die, don't let him eat it all the time. Just make sure when you take him places to steer clear of the poop or with pick up his business so he doesn't eat it. If you have a cat, take their litter box and put it in a room and put up a baby door thing so the cat and jump over as he/she pleases and the dog can't get it.

Lol cat cookies had me cracking up.

It won't hurt him, it's perfectly normal. Only advice I can give is to brush his teeth and give him a dental snack.

Since it was an outside cat's poo there is the possibility for worms, so keep an eye on that.

No, dogs do this all of the time. It's disgusting, but natural for them.
They like to roll in all kinds of things, too. Some of it's even worse than cat poo.

Some dogs eat poop because they are lacking nutrients in their diet..

This is gross but.. some say if the other animal eats people food it comes out in their poop.. so this is why it would be appetizing.

My neighbours dog ate poop out of the cat box all the time.. he was fine.

Cat "cookies" will not harm your dog. If it causes him discomfort, he'll vomit, and all is right with the world again. But, I highly doubt he'll have any issues at all. So, don't sweat it! :)
