"Talked" to this girl over match.com for like a month and a half before asking her out to a baseball game. She said yes. I asked about one day to go, and she said she was going with her sister that day and would of course wanna be just w/ her. Then that day of the game she emails me and says she couldn't go bc she thought it was a night game and was at day and had class. So asked me to the Friday night game. Anyway, we meet up, I bought the tickets, she offered to pay back, I said no prob, we hugged, she basically insisted she buy the hotdogs. During the game, few awkward silences, I tend to be shy during new people situations. But still, she asked a lot of questions, laughed, danced, fooled around, we both were very saracstic at times. Made a lot of jokes, etc. End of the night, walked back to the train station, talked a lil, some awkward pauses, talked, etc, she asked how I was getting back after the train, my train came, we stood, hugged, said goodnight, the end.

She said "I had a great time." I said "So did I."

Anyway like two hours later my friend said I should text her to say I had good time etc. So I text her "Hey, you made the game really fun, we should meet up again sometime."

That was on the 20th...at 12:30am...so technically 21st of July. She hasn't texted me back yet.

Do you think I screwed something up? She seemed to like me, said had great time, hugged, but then didn't answer my text.

Is it possible she likes me but is waiting to respond for some reason?

Or does she not like me?

I felt chemistry, so I'm confused why she didn't get back to me yet.

Plus before we met I said we should see a movie too sometime, and she said she wanted to see Harry Potter.

But also, she is leaving for Spain to study abroad in a month.......

Maybe she doesn't wanna get into "something" right before she leaves.

Advice, thoughts?

sounds like it went well to me. the joking and the asking of many questions (she's intrigued and wants to know more about you) are especially good signs.

the stuff about her paying may just be to show you that she isn't out to take you for your money. that's a good thing, obviously. ;)

ask her out again. if you don't, she'll just assume you don't like her (and maybe think that *she* did something wrong on the date) and then you'll be out of luck.

So what's your question? Sounds like the date went well to me. She was smiling and hugging you when she left.

Have some self-confidence, man! Women think that confidence is sexy. Quit worrying about something that you cannot change now anyway. if she is a person of quality, she will not care that there were just a few awkward silences.

====edit===

I think that texting too much right after a date can seem like you are desperate or needy. Don't sweat it if you screwed up, but do something else to keep you busy, and don't text or call again for 24 to 48 hours.

If she is leaving soon, may she just wanted a friend to kill time with. The fact that she offered to pay for her half suggests that she only wanted to be friends (since she is going to Spain and wont see you again).

how long ago was this baseball game? Has she not called you back or have you not talked to her since?
As far as I can tell, it sounded like a great date. I don't know where you would have screwed up. If she hasn't called you back, maybe she's waiting for you to call. And if you have and she's ignored your calls, maybe it's just because she just realized you weren't the one for her. That may sound harsh, but really - that's the point of dating. To figure out if you want to be with that person. And for whatever reason, maybe you just weren't her guy. And that has nothing to do with anything you did.

Hope I could help.

It sounds like, in her mind, your encounter wasn't a date at all. Usually the guy pays for everything, so I'm curious as to why you didn't turn down her offer to pay back. Obviously if she persisted then you would let her.

Have you at least emailed her back to ask her about a second date??? If she says no or doesn't respond then you have an answer right there.

Don't feel bad though. . .dating can be awkward. Worse case scenario I know of is a guy who took is date to a Gentleman's Club (strip club) and of course she got pissed and left immediately. It sounds like you performed a lot better than he did.

You didnt do anything wrong! How did you screw it up. Also, awkaward pauses our only awkward if you feel awkward inside. Woman always mimic their mans/dates behavior. If the guy is relaxed, the female will be relaxed. If you truly feel relaxed and comfortable during the silences, she WILL pick up on it and feel comfortable too, making her feel comfortable around you. Afterall, why do we have to constantly be talking about bllshit to be comfortable?

Answer to question- NO, you did fine.. you were being yourself and that is all you can be. The date sounds kind of cute, I would call and ask her out again. Nothing to loose.

...it sounds like it went fine. Call her to say hello. Get a feel for her mood, the tone of her voice, etc., Listen for cues to know if you should continue getting to know her, or move on.

It sounds pretty good. Get a phone number? Call or email her back.
