I'm looking for a shampoo that doesn't concentrate on smelling good. It has to clean very well, as well, like Burt's Bees. I'm also looking for shampoos that have NO sodium laureth sulfate or sodium laurel sulfate.

I recommend RedKen products. I am allergic to nearly all soaps/shampoos, and RedKen products do not bother me. I use RedKen AllSoft.

I use Burt's Bees Tea And Fennel Seed Color Keeper for my dreads, and it states on the bottle that it is sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate free. I don't get flakes. SLS and SLES are known potent skin irritants. Head and Shoulders is known to not have SLS/SLES because of it's ability to remove dandruff.

I'm not sure if those ingredients are in them but I absolutely LOVE Kpak products. Expensive, get them at a beauty store, but worth it. I'm not sure about those ingredients in them tho...

You might want to try the bulk goods at the health food stores. I also use those sometimes and they're supposed to be pretty environmentally sound.

I've been using Pantene Pro-V conditioner and shampoo for smooth and sleek hair (GREEN bottle) - for 5 yrs. and I would say that it works really great! My hair got smoother, stronger and less split ends.
