If I drink the poison of the bitter root of resentment, I grew sicker by the day. The person who did the injustice is not harmed by me taking that poison. My hardest test to date has been the way my ex-daughter-in-law committed horrible sins in front of my granddaughter while my son was hospitalized. It has taken time, but God has changed my heart toward this woman. I will protect my granddaughter, but set aside time for her mother to visit her and encourage them to eat together in my home, even though the mother has no visitation rights, I am only concerned with my granddaughters well being.She is so proud when she can invite her mother to a meal and show off in the kitchen. That is more than I could do for the last three years. I know that did not come from me, it was a gift. I am simply too flawed to pull this off without divine help.Another unexpected gift it my girl is smart enough to see the effort on my part. Her kisses are even sweeter, and her hugs are angelic. She knows, and that is the legacy I want to give her. And, oh yeah, did I mention that that is the single hardest area of my heart sin. He did for me what I could not do, just like He always has. We can't. He can. I am going to let Him do it! { Didn't mean to go on so, but I just had the breakthrough a few months ago.}

I have....but I had an aunt who was a good example in reverse...she held on to bitterness and was a miserable person. Every time I try to hold on to a grudge or bitterness God brings her to my mind and I just give it to Him.

Forgiveness may not make sense but how can we who have been forgiven not forgive?

Unfortunately, yes... but sooner or later I realize I am just harming my own relationship with the Lord by holding onto it and have to ask the Lord to give me the love and to see the viewpoint of the person I was at odds with, then, forgive and ask for forgiveness so that I was FREE once more.

Peace be with you :)

I hold a grduge about as long as I hold a hot pan in my hands without a pot holder. Keeping such anger inside you is NOT a healthy way to live and can raise one's Blood Pressure by a significant amount. Us old farts shouldn't run around with high blood pressure, you know. LOL

Usually no...it's literally not healthy...I like to just move on. But sometimes you have to cut people off...you can forgive but certain things you can't forget.
