Gatchaman, I hope you're now satisfied after you just repeated the same old lies over and over.

btw, just a reminder, twisting truth is the greatest lie.

Gatchaman- I would hate to see what your grades were in Catholic school since you do not know that Catholics do not worship Mary.
People are so insecure with their own beliefs that they are threatened by other people's beliefs. The churches they go to spread lies and propaganda to discredit the Catholic church because they are afraid that their members will go elsewhere if they don't teach them to fear and hate these religions. I have found the fundamentalists are particularly guilty of this.
I would seriously question my church if they started smear campaigns against others.
6 known child molesters were listed in the list of leader of the Southern Baptist Convention. They were not removed until the SBC was forced to because of outraged members.
It'smrandmrsboots, if by studying the Catholic Faith, you mean you went to websites operated by Christian assemblies of God (such as the one you posted), it is no wonder that you are so ignorant of the truth. Try going right to the source to learn the truth instead of reading propaganda spread by people with an agenda.
By the way, I'm not Catholic either. I am just not ignorant on their beliefs as so many others seem to be.

This has gone on for ages...Nothing New. Just look at the answers you've gotten... Take (Jelly Bean) for example. She claims we pray to Mother Mary during Mass. We both know this is Not True. It's no wonder Protestants fall victim to wrong understandings of our faith. A Protestant that claims they were Catholic ... Is like a Trophy for their church. However it becomes clear that those Ex-Catholics were Catholic in Name Only. Sadly, there are far too many uneducated Catholics. These are the ones that fall victim to heresy. When I read an answer that is Not a part of our teachings; Claiming to know such nonsense...I automatically Know...They were Uneducated in our Faith. Why give them the attention they seek? They are just grasping for acceptance by their peers. They aren't a good lot to debate. Answer Q's to the theological group and avoid the insincerity of the riffraff. God Bless You.

They spread lies because they don't understand Catholicism. They assume many things and then make judgments based on what they assume. It's a bad practice.

I am a convert to Catholicism. When I was protestant I had many ideas about Catholicism that were wrong. I believed the things that I had heard and never cared to check it out. I even asked a couple of Catholics if they worshiped statues and they told me yes. So, I was even more convinced.

But thankfully, God opened my eyes and revealed to me the truth in the Church. Wow...what a shock! How very right it is everything fits so perfectly.

I was always a Christian, but it's as if I was looking through a fog...now that I am Catholic I can see so clearly. The faith continues to draw me closer to Christ, deeper into his heart.

Those who regurgitate the same old anti-Catholic rhetoric need to research the practices from the Church's point of view. Most anti-Catholics say the same things over and over and they are not new...actually they are quite boring. The Catholic Church has successfully proved her adherence to the sacred scriptures and to sacred traditions. For 2000 years she has effectively defended her stance, never changing or wavering.

It's an excellent question. I've wondered the same thing for a very long time.

The best answer I ever saw was this one:

"There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing."
-Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

I think Archbishop Sheen hit it on the head. If people want to hate us, that's fine. But at least know the truth of what you're hating us for.

Because religion is a competitive business. People don't spread hate against other religion like the Catholic Church - other churches do. Remember that the Catholic Church is in the business of conversion much like the Pentecostals, Mormons, Muslims, Hindus, etc. The more members they have the more they get for the kitty. One of the true religious persons I know of was Mother Theresa - she helped the poor and took care of the sick and dying without any personal regard for herself. I believe that all religious leaders should follow her example.

Could you be more specific? Do you think the Roman Catholic Church is free from any error--even the error modern popes have claimed the Roman Catholic Church has made?

Actually I have studied catholicism and know alot about your doctrine. There are alot of things most catholics don't know about their own beliefs, like the fact the catholic holds tradition higher than the Bible. Here is one for you the catholic church allows their followers to steal and to lie when it is in the catholic churches best interest. I will provide you a link below i wish you to look at and i hope it helps you see the light of the truth. Please read it carefuly.

I like to think we deserve it. Not because we are wrong, but because we are right. We fight against principalities and powers. Those refer to evil, not countries and governments.
Protestants do not comprehend the difference between veneration and worship. I have tried to explain even to people I work with. I tell them "No, we do not worship Mary..." then they interupt and correct me on my faith. The audacity of it!!! As if we know less of our faith than they the non-practicing agnostic do.
So, they do study our faith. Funny isn't it. They deny it yat study it just so they can try to put it down to us. That is why we deserve that kind of persecution, because the non-believer wants US not to believe. Because his non-belief is born from another's evil.

EDIT
BTW someone said we hold tradition in higher regard than the bible.
Catholicism is older than the bible ding dong. Catholicism assembled the bible scriptures into one source in the fourth century USING sacred tradition.
When are you muttonheads going to get that part through your thick skulls. You are all using the bible, the work of Catholic scholars.

I am sure if you think clearly you will find that there are very educated people who reject the teachings of Catholicism.

I have studied the teachings of the Catholic church and found them to be in serious error in comparison to what the Bible teaches. I will not elaborate since I have covered this many times in here, but if you are close-minded or brain-washed by Catholic dogma to the point of making all your arguments subjective nobody could convince you of anything anyway.
God Himself will not try to convince you if you refuse to hear His voice.

Rant on about Catholicism, or try studying for yourself and see what Christianity is truly about by researching out what others believe.
