I do not eat the recomented amount of fruit and veg. and I want to know of any vitamins that will give the same nutritional values as those in the food. I also prefer something over the counter and that is a popular brand not something you find at a farmers market. Also if there is a vitamin (not a weight loss pill) that can also helps with weight loss let me know!
Thanks a lot!

Any of the vitamin/mineral supplements available at the store or pharmacy will do. They should have a label that states the amounts of vitamins/minerals they contain, as a percentage of the recommended daily allowance. The vitamins and minerals you need are best absorbed from a food source, but if you are not eating them then a vitamin would be the sensible choice. Try to get a chewable type, as those give you the best shot for absorbing the most, as opposed to a non-chewable which may not digest in time. Any tablet that provides more than 100% of the recommended allowance is a waste of money. Some vitamins are water soluble, and excess literally gets flushed away, and the fat soluble vitamins can build up to dangerous levels in the body. There are no magic pills to promote weight loss, unfortunately. That still remains a matter of eating fewer calories than you expend in a day. There is evidence to suggest that drinking a glass or two of skim milk will help increase loss, but calcium supplements don't have the same effect. You should also take your vitamin/mineral supplement with food, to get the maximum effect. And there is no real difference between "organic" vitamin supplements and the others sold in stores. While it's easier for the body to get the vitamin A from a carrot, if you aren't eating the carrot, a tablet is the next best thing. Where the chemical came from to make the tablet is of no importance to your body at that point. Hope this helps some. Just read the labels on the vitamin package, and look for 100% of the RDA for women.

The best is fruits and vegetables. If not, second best is organic vitamins. They can be found at health food stores. Ones you can pick up anywhere are synthetic, made in a lab. Centrum is a good one. We did a test on how well vitamins digest in the stomach in my nutrition class at college. Centrum broke down the fastest. To test your vitamin to see if it is digestible put in in a dixie cup of vinegar for 10 minutes. Than you will know how good it is for you.
