well i turned 18 last week and i have never had a drivers permit and i want to know if its need first in order to get my license...or are permits just for those under 18...i live in new york and i always takemymom's car with her permission ofcourse therefore i have experience at driving. Can u please list the steps i have to take in order to get my license.

List of steps to get your driver's license.
1. You need to have a collection of documents that equal 6 points to take with you to the DMV. If you don't have 6 points, you need to have one of your parents with you who can come up with 6 points. Here is the NY state DMV website that lists items that add up or is equal to 6 points.

2. Have $52 to pay for learner's permit.
3. Go to DMV. Take test and fill out forms. You will get a temporary license.
4. Schedule a road test. Do this first because the date the DMV gives you will be at least 6 weeks away.
5. Take the 5 hour class required by state law and at least one lesson with a professional driving instructor. The 5 hour class is required by state law. You have experience driving, but you may have picked up bad habits- things that shouldn't be done on your road test.
If you live in NYC, DO NOT take the test in Queens, Brooklyn, or Manhattan. Staten Island and the Bronx are simple. I took it in Mariners Harbor Staten Island and a friend of mine took it in Travis Staten Island and we both said the pretty much the same thing. I took it in Brooklyn the first time and failed!!. Since you have never had a license before, they may require you to get a permit, not sure. I do know that in KY, you have to have the permit for 30 days before you can take your test. Once you take the test, then the license is issued at that time. good luck.

Having Toyota in NASCAR has made the others 'pick up their socks' and start developing faster and better, in my opinion. Its easy to say a comp isn't good for a sport, but has Toyota really been 'bad' for NASCAR? As to forgiving drivers? Whats to forgive? They've got rides. All the Cup cars on the track are the same except for the logo. Wait til the new Ntnwd cars come onto the track....they are distinctive to their make!

You need to get your permit first no matter what your age is. After a certain amount of time you can get your liscense.

first step is go to the DMV office. they will kind of coach you from there. if i could i would issue you a license from here. but i don't have a picture of you. no wait can you sketch me one and email it to me?
