Just wondering, I knew a guy that used to do that cause he couldn't afford all the kids that he had.

It's definately important for a couple to be realistic as to how many children they should have. There are lots of factors (health, money, etc.) to consider, and then couples should consult the Lord. I tend to agree with you on this one. Some members of the church probably have more children then they should. I come from a family of ten kids. Although, we never had to share a desert, my parents went into debt to take care of us all. Plus they weren't able to spend a whole lot of time with each us individually.

Hey I'm not Mormon and I would do this with my kids!! At a nice restaurant dessert can be quite expensive!! Plus how many moms and dads KNOW your kid won't eat all of the ice cream fudge brownie dessert so why not save money and share!!!!

Im Mormon and 13 and we dont usually have to do that but sometimes the younger kids shared b/c we didnt want to spend a lot of money on desserts for everyone and most likely the three youngest wouldnt eat a lot.so we would share i have 5 older sisters and no borthers but we dont mind and we love each other but now that my oldest sister is married and starting her own family and my second and third sisters are out of the house we can get our own desserts.but Mormons dont usually have that kind of Problems.
