I guess this is a pretty general question but...does anyone have any ideas for weddings favors?? Not too expensive but really neat and different. Thanks in advance!

The wedding is a semi formal evening wedding in October. :-)

Dover Publications carries lovely little books of poems, plays, sonnets, etc. They cost around $1-3 a piece, usually include over 100 poems, and the books themselves are actually pretty. My fiance' and I are ordering A Midsummer Night's Dream for our favors, and I am going to make ribbon book marks in our colors to dress up the books a little further.

I'm also thinking of burning CD's with our reception playlist. We have a CD LightScribe function and can make custom CD's. Jean M has some cool CD jackets (I'm sure there are other sites as well, but that's the only one I've found so far).

I get marry this weekend coming and i had a hard time with wedding favors to because i wanted something different. So, i decide to burn some cd's with the songs that was played at the wedding and other wedding songs. You can get cd's really cheap and choose your songs and burn them for little or nothing. Or find the hersey kisses in the red wrapping and go to the craft store and by the little green sticks and some of that tulle that is the color of your wedding, put the two hersey kisses together where the two bottoms are touching each other and take the tulle and wrap it around the stem and make a rose. I really hope this help.( I hope i spell tulle right)

Honestly, not much of what people give out as wedding favors actually get used. All of those corny candles, coasters, and trinkets are so overdone. I've found from the many weddings I've been to that the best gift is one of food. The neatest thing I've found in a while are the sugar cookie cakes on martha stewart's website (under-good things). They're sugar cookies that are stacked to look like wedding cakes. You can frost them with whatever wedding colors you are using, and they are displayed in clear boxes with ribbon around them. It's a fairly inexpensive treat to make and they're so unique! Good luck with whatever you choose!

Let's be honest. Nobody wants to take home another crappy wedding favor. Forget the stupid picture frames, ornaments blah blah blah. They become dust collectors and end up in the trash.
Either make the favor something consumable: chocolate or candy. Or something that can be used and then thrown out.

My brother and his wife gave out little tiny fabric bags with wildflower seeds in them. It was nice. I planted them and threw out the bag.

I was at a wedding three weeks ago and the bride and groom put a note in the center of the table that said instead of wedding favors, they made a donation to their favorite charity, the Make a Wish foundation. That was a really nice idea.
Save your money, skip the favor. Nobody wants them anyway.

I am not a collector of things so I tend to shy away from things like picture frames or scrolls or anything that I am supposed to "keep" as a souvenir, with that in mind we decided to go with chocolates in a little box, I got 50 flat packed favour boxes from Ebay in a really pretty blue colour, then filled them with good quality chocolate sweets and tied with a cream ribbon. I also got some little heart charms and threaded one on to each box (using the ribbon through the little hole) and they look cute, it may not be original but at least it will get eaten!!

You could make chocolate (white or milk) suckers. Depending on your theme it would be very easy to find general hearts, flowers or even something seasonal and they are very easy to make. Just tie a ribbon around the base and attach a card with your name and date.
Another idea is to wrap some of those Hershey Treasures in tulle or a box with a cute message about how you treasure having them there.
Best Wishes.

Need more info such as colors, time of year?

Usually if you can't eat it or drink it guests will leave it behind or throw it in the trash. Either do edibles or a donation to a charity, otherwise use the money to upgrade something the guests will appreciate more like the music or a bar.

an idea or something

get some hersheys kisses and put them in a cute little box and make a thing that says 'a box full of kisses from the mister and misses'

you could probably find something cute on the internet if you looked.

We ordered small satin type bags that were personalized off of ebay and filled them heart shaped candies. You can get the bags in any color with any color print and it adds your personal touch. We paid $50 for 150 bags and ordered the candies from a bulk candy place.
