I have found an amazing christian guy. I love his devotion to Our Lord and the blessed mother. Spiritually he is everything I would want. But he barely knows I exist. We were friends separated a long time ago. A friend's wedding just crossed our paths again. I'm 18, he's 20.
The only problem is that he is very exroverted, and I'm kind of shy at first.
I need advise! Should I try to get to know him better and risk falling flat on my face? Or should I just accept that he doesn't pay much attention to me, and forget about him?

Is his name Luke Skywalker? (I'm a bit embarrassed to recognize your screen name.) Edit: I'll grant the the Timothy Zahn books are great. Are the later books as good as those? I remember being extremely disappointed in the Kevin J. Andersen books, to the point where I stopped reading Star Wars. (Yes, I was a nerdy middle schooler.)

Learn more about the guy before you pursue him. Being religious doesn't mean he's a good person.

This sounds like me and my wife, except in reverse.

She is the extrovert, always having a laugh and a few words with everybody. I am no party guy. I sat at the desk next to her for three years before I asked her out, but as it turned out, we each were the answer to the other's prayer.

I might suggest praying first, but you have to be alert when you pray. God answers, but sometimes your answer is unexpected.

My prayer was simply to have the right lady in my life. (I was married once before without consulting God, and that was a disaster.....)

It was amazing how the prayer was answered, too. It started out that my deskmate thought she was having a heart attack; and when I heard I rushed to the hospital to see how she was doing. We still don't know why, exactly, her friend decided to call me at midnight, but she did. The friend just says that my name "popped into her head".

And the rest, as they say, is history.

So pray before you get going, but be watchful and aware that the answer may come from an unexpected place.

Go for it.

Sounds like the story of my life. I'm shy myself and just crossed paths again with a girl I knew when I was 12. Made a bit of a fool of myself... but we're talking almost every other day. And she's flying over here for a first date kind of thing next month.

Worst thing that can happen is you'll regain a lost friend. Go for it.

Talk to him. Get to be friends with him. If it's meant to be more than that, it will be. If not, it won't.

Remember that some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. He is undoubtedly a great guy, but he might not be the right one for you. On the other hand, he might. You just never know.

It doesn't hurt to try. Give it a shot. If you fall on your face, then get back up and keep your head high. Remember, we have to be patient for God. He knows what we want but it will only happen in His time, not ours

Perhaps your shyness appears to be disinterest. Buy him a coffee. If the chemistry isn't there then you have, at least, gained a friend.

I have a Idea christian girl. Go ask him out. If he turns you down, find another guy, if that guy turns you down, find another, jump around in your love......realize that the knowledge of sex you have is a whore. Look to God if you are a virgin, if not? get married if you can not control yourself. You all fall to the flesh, and the love of the father is not with you. Maybe you should learn to defeat the flesh?
