Very good question. I don't think that absolute truth about anything is attainable. Sure there are some things that are completely true however other things are more debatable and questionable. In terms of religion, I do not believe any of them are true.
The reason for my answer is simple, each person views their religion the most true and right religion compared to another persons. ALSO, many religions over lap and contradict each other. One religion will claim that there is only one God while another will say with absolute certainty (to the point that they will even bet their lives on it) that there are many Gods. Hinduism claims that there is one God however he is menefestated in many things while Muslims believe in one God. Christians believe in the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost and that there is one God and Jesus is his son.
With that example, I conclude that there is no one religion that is absolutely true/right. Rather a whole bunch of religions that "claim" to be "more true" which can be seen by the number of believers of the religion. Christianity has the highest population of believers so perhaps people might think that that religion is the most true.
Yes anyway, no religion is true. They all contradict each other and truth doesnt contradict, it is true....I hope that made sense :s ahahaha

Who really knows...I feel though that "church" has turned into a money grubbing instatution esp in the US....I feel that if you are generally a good person you will cover all the bases regardless if there is a true religion or not and if there is a true religion the core of most religions are to treat others well and respect your self so if you just do that life will be good...Theology is really interesting though!

All religions are true- true to a set of doctrines. However, if you believe that the bible is the unadulterated word of God, then the ones who are true to His word are Jehovah's Witnesses. No other denomination in Christendom teaches completely what the bible does. Many come somewhat close, but either add, change, or ignore parts of the bible. Serious students of the bible and its history can easily discern this. Most people are happy with "cafeteria style" Christianity, where they walk by and pick out only the parts of the bible they like because it's what THEY prefer to put on their plate, but in the end they're spiritually malnourished because they don't take ALL of what God has given them to "eat". Jehovah's Witnesses don't do this! We take everything God gives us, no matter how unpopular it makes us to the people around us. Jehovah's Witnesses are also the only ones who can FULLY back up everything we believe using the scriptures. However, if you don't believe the bible is God's word then all of this means nothing to you!

I asked this question once and got a variy of remarks...from how presumptuous I was to assume that there was one true religion to a strait foreward "islam" or "Jehova's witnesses". honestly, I think that once an established religion forms, all credibility is suspect and prone to the inherent weaknesses in all humans. I think the whole point is to seek.

A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a community, involving adherence to codified beliefs and rituals and study of ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.
I use a fork, spoon and knife in America and use chock sticks in china---different cultures have different practices
God may be defined by a religion but God is not confined by a religion--only men are, God loves us all and only asks for the same in return through the acceptance of the sacrificial blood of Christ-but what does that mean....ask a Catholic and a Protestant and get 2 different answers---man's dogma not God's

Is it possible that there are many. That our Creator is too big, awesome to put limits on. Maybe all the major religions, come from one God - the One that will never leave His creation on their own, without guidence. Maybe Abraham, Moses, Buddua, Christ, Muhammad all were Messengers of the same God. Maybe God, has since them sent Another. Maybe more people should truly investigate the Baha'u'llah's claims of being the Promised One of All Religions! or Maybe not, it's your choice..............

I think all religions are an attempt at explaining the truth. Christianity seems to be the closest to the truth which is probably why so many connect with it.
