Eat an apple. One of the crunchy ones, i.e. Red Delicious. But youshould make sure that there's a permanent tooth there to erupt. Sometimes, people do not form an adult tooth, and the primary, or baby, tooth is retained.
No big deal, nothing to worry about.

Chew some really sticky candy, like gummie orange pieces (Those did me in in 5th grade). You're tooth actually will get stuck in the candy, so don't swallow once you feel it pop out! otherwise the tooth fairy can't come...

if the tooth is loose you can have him eat something hard (like an apple or candy) then it will easily 'break' off

Just wiggle it until it's good and loose then one quick twist and voila. tooth fairy will give ya a nickle.

Keep poking it with your tongue. It worked great for a six year old I know. She lost 7 teeth really quickly following that approach.

When I was a kid my mom use to put a string around it and make my dad pull fast and hard.It worked every time.I am scared to do it to my son so when he have one I just let him eat something hard
