How do we have Caucasians, Africans, Indians, American Indians, Chinese, Japanese, ect...?
There is no way a male and female Jew (I am assuming, since Jesus is claimed to be of the line of David/Adam~Jewish) would ever have produced a myriad of races.
For example, exposure to the sun for Caucasian people only produces a tan, it does not change them to Chinese!
I posted this question as many Christian apologetics try to excuse away the Genesis story by saying silly un-scientific statements such as Adam and Eve were really both "brown", or that they could have produced non-Caucasian offspring.
If Adam and Eve were of Japanese origin, we would all be...Japanese!
Please explain how we all got here, Mr. Preacher man or woman.
By the way, I am not a racist, and have dated asian and black ladies (I am a "white guy"). So please keep the nazi remarks off of here!

To a handful of you...keep the "Ad Hominen" remarks to yourself. It only shows you are weak (you have no real comment, so you emotionally outburst).
I am going for my Bachelor's of Science degree, and have studied biology.

Excuse my typos.
The enviroment contributes little to one's genetic makeup. If this were true, then anyone living on the equator would turn dark. This is not true.
There are quite a few Boers in South Africa, and they have been there for over 300 years. Wow, they are still...white! Not even mild roasting!
Some people need to do their own research; it is lacking (obvious they are not in college or have a degree).

Christians:
Please, keep the "God can do anything" logic. “God can turn rocks into people, so that’s how we have dozens of races (and can excuse the Genesis story! Wee!)!” Circular reasoning.
Genesis 1 states "God" placed people on the earth. Then in Genesis 2 "God" made only Adam and then Eve, and the Bible is quite explicit that “Eve was the mother of ALL of humanity”.
Both statements cannot be true. And one must be wrong.
As usual, the Bible is full of sewage and nonsense. “Tinkle tinkle, tinkle tinkle”…can you hear the land of fairies everyone? That is where your mind has to be to accept the Bible.

Todd:
It is circular reasoning as what was my original question? What was that person's response?
The Christian is always "right" because God can do anything, even if it is not expressly mentioned in the so-called Bible. It is a form of begging the question.
Shawn: "Why are there Chinese people if Adam and Eve were Jewish(example)?"
Joe: "Because God made Chinese people from rocks *after* Adam and Eve!"
It is utterly rediculous. It is like saying, "The Bible is infalliable, because it is the Word of God." It is a self-endorsement.
Example:
John: "The Bible is without flaws."
Jane: "How do you know?"
John: "Because it is God's Word!"
A self-endorsement is worthless. "I am right, because I am right."

Sigh...ask a perfectly marvelous question such as this, and what do the Christians give you? The usual double talk.
I think that they think that they will go to hell if they answer questions like this one with the logical conclusion that the bible is a bunch of bs. They would rather appear glassy eyed stupidly in defense of the inane stuff in the bible than contradict even its most idiotic passages.
They are a stubborn lot, those pesky little Christians. Very stubborn. Very pesky.
What can one do? Don't mash your wonderful brain cells against the wall trying to get them to think. Your intellect is too important to those of us who agree with you!
Bright Blessings,

Although it does not address this specifically in the Bible, one possible explanation is that Adam and Eve possessed the genes to produce black, brown, and white offspring (and everything else in between). This would be similar to how a mixed-race couple often has children that vary greatly in color from one another. I have an interracial family and each one of us varies greatly in appearance. I have a nephew who is african american and italian, but looks similar to indian or samoan. My son, who is african amerian and french canadian, is very light, whereas my daughter, who is of the same ethnic background, is much darker and has features of my husbands grandmother. As a second example, my parents both have brown hair (one has blue eyes and one brown), as do their parents, but I have red hair and blue eyes, physical traits that I inherited from my great grandfather. Since God obviously desired humanity to be diverse in appearance, it makes sense that God would have given Adam and Eve the ability to produce children of different skin tones. Later, the only survivors of the Flood were Noah and his wife, Noah’s three sons and their wives, eight people in all (Genesis 7:13). Perhaps Shem’s, Ham’s, or Japheth’s wives were of different races. It is possible that Noah’s wife was of a different race than Noah. Maybe all 8 of them were of mixed race, which would mean that they possessed the genetics to produce children of different races. Whatever the explanation, the most important aspect of this question is that we are all the same race (the human race), all created by the same God, all created for the same purpose.
Of course, its also possible that these different races also were eventually affected by the climate and environment to some extent. Contrary to what some might believe or even realize, 6 thousand years is a pretty long time. Just think about the changes that have occured in the last 100 years. A lot can happen in 6 thousand.

To tell the truth, I completely agree with you that the biblical story is untenable. I'm not a Christian. But I have to take issue with one small point. You said:
"Please, keep the "God can do anything" logic. “God can turn rocks into people, so that’s how we have dozens of races (and can excuse the Genesis story! Wee!)!” Circular reasoning."
That's not circular reasoning. It doesn't even hint at circular reasoning.
If God is omnipotent, why couldn't he turn rocks into people (that is, after all, the basic notion of Genesis)? Why couldn't he create races of people at will? Why couldn't he have contravened the laws of science (as we understand them) to have all races derived from Adam and Eve within even just a few thousand years? You may say, 'because it is scientifically impossible.' But if God is omnipotent then what's to stop him? Claiming circularity in the logic is really just a cop-out to answering the issue, since it doesn't contain circular logic.
You could argue that the case for science is stronger than the case for the Bible. You could argue that the Bible is mythology, not a literal history. You could even argue on logical grounds that if God is omnipotent (as the rocks-to-humans explanation HINTS at [doen't really claim it or need it in the strict philosophical sense]) why does He allow evil to exist in the world? That would make a more compelling argument than just writing it off as 'circular logic.'

Adam and Eve were both "white" but Cain was a black man. I'm not sure about Abel. Then we move foward to Noah and his family. He had three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. Shem was what we call "Asian", Ham was white and Japheth was black. Anything and everything is possible with God and He created these first people just like that. That's how all the "races" began. And no, I'm not racist either. They were allowed to marry brothers and sisters to begin with, and then families were formed and tribes and eventually whole nations. Human beings intermarried and that's how all the other "races" were made. God only did that twice. After Noah's wife no other couple has been able to produce different "coloured" children.

According to the Bible, all people today descended from the survivors of a great Flood - Noah's family, who in turn descended from Adam and Eve (Gen 1:11). There are many stories, from many parts of the world, of a great Flood that only several people survived to repopulate the earth.
But today we have many different groups, often called "races" with what seem to be greatly differing features. The most obvious of these is skin color. Some see this as a reason to doubt the Bible's record of history. They believe that the various groups could have arisen only by evolving separately over tens of thousands of years. However, this does not follow from the evidence.
The Bible tells us how the population that descended from Noah's family had one language and were living together and disobeying God's command to "fill the earth" (Gen 9:1, 11:4). God confused their language, causing a break-up of the population into smaller groups, which scattered over the earth (Gen. 11:8-9). Modern genetics shows how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations. And there is good evidence to show that the various groups of people we have today have NOT been separated for huge periods of time.
One could say there is really only one race - the human race. The Bible teaches us that God has "made from one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26. Scripture distinguishes people by tribal or national groupings, not by skin color or physical features. Clearly, though, there are groups of people, who have certain features (e.g. skin color) in common, which distinguish them from other groups. We prefer to call these "people groups" rather than "races," to avoid the evolutionary and racist connotations that have become associated with the word "race."
All peoples can intermarry and produce fertile offspring. This shows that the biological differences between the "races" are not great. In fact, the DNA differences are trivial. The DNA of any two people in the world would typically differ by just 0.2%. Of this, only 6% can be linked to racial categories; the rest is "within race" variation.
This genetic unity means, for instance, that white Americans, although ostensibly far removed from black Americans in phenotype, can sometimes be better tissue matches for them than other black Americans.

first of all i'm not a christian or jewish but have studied the bible. i'm a truth seeker trying to grasp the divine. from it's claims it would seem adam and eve didn't have a race, they were the race. if you look at all the races of humankind you will find 3 distinct colors of skin. dark, tan and white. noah had three sons ham, shem and japeth. ham (dark), shem (tan) and japeth (pale). another fact is that the bible records were all their offspring populated. if you dig a bit you'll find those races in that historical area. while neo christendom has no credibility the bible does have some historical credibility. if you read the time line the jews sprung off of one of noahs sons. latter came abram whom had a son that had 12 sons of whom "the jews" came. jews is actually referring to the tribe of judah. what we call jews is actually israel or the hebrew race. they can be divided into 12 tribes and 2 half tribes... as far as the asians go they are tan but they have other features because of evolutionic breeding (if that makes sense). its to bad that you have to have the truth about the bible from a pagan... most monotheist don't know about this for some reason... peace to all!
as far as the gen 1 and 2 contradiction the stories or accounts could reasonably overlap each other. meaning moses simply detailed what was already done...
in defence of paganism if you look at the hebrew word for god in the first couple of chapters in gen he is referred to as elohim (that's plurl) :)...

A lot of it has to do with how your skin pigmentation reacts to being a certain distance from the equator. I understand that I tan does not change your race. It didn't happen to one person. It was over a extremely long period of time.
I'm a Christian and I can agree with you on one thing. There isn't really a scientific way of explaining things. I am personally thankful for that. I don't believe in God as a scientist, but rather as the Creator of the world. Because it is not always explainable scientifically, we are compelled to believe that there is more to this life than lab work and formulas. There is something bigger out there.
In Don Miller's book, Blue Like Jazz, he says the following: "Too much of our time is spent trying to chart God on a grid, and too little is spent allowing our hearts to feel awe. By reducing Christian spirituality to a formula, we deprive our hearts of wonder."
I think this is true. I am at fault for this. I think it is important to stand in awe of what God has created rather than act bigger than him and try to understand what an all-knowing and all-powerful being has in perfect control. Also, its not like he left us out in the cold. He gave us the Bible to lay out so much information for us. The more I read, the more I understand how and why we're here. Its really exciting!
I don't want to sound preachy but thats how I feel about this.

A thorough genetic survey of the world was performed and found that all of mankind originate from one small tribe that left Africa and followed shorelines to branch out.
Scientists have found that modern humans are descended from a very small population, perhaps as few as five thousand individuals. They appear to have left about 200,000 years ago.
Black people can turn into white people in about 20,000 years. Is amazing but true. The variety of races seen in humanity is a regionally produced difference developed over time. THERE IS ONLY ONE RACE -- THE HUMAN RACE.

First of all, LOL, Adam and Eve were not 'Jews'! Gawd do some timeline research! Jews did not come about until much later. As for color, who gives a damn? But you have a strong argument when it comes to the Chinese. they have their own creation stories, and they are not overly influenced by the West. Sounds like we've been shammed, no? Yet the truth can be arrived at by many paths.
