All i can think is that, before you are about to do something and you question it, ask yourself whether God would agree with what you're about to do, if you're in doubt then don't do it.

For catholics Sin are moral evil, so any act that hurts your relationship with God are a sin. That means that your soul are harmed when you commit a sin. Sin is a personal act made, and any responsibility direct or indirect in bad acts either alone or with others.
The deadly sins grouping for Pope St Gregory the Great, although not strictly biblical, helps to get meaning to all sins: Lust (inappropriate desire), Gluttony (over-indulgence), Greed (avarice), Sloth (laziness), Wrath (anger), Envy (jealousy), Pride (vanity). All sins can be fit in one of more of this broad categories, as all sins start in this seven sins.
For example, Compulsive gambling is Lust and stealing is Greed and Sloth . Anorexia will be placed on Pride (Vanity) but also Gluttony who means over-indulgence, not only eat like a fatty.
Abortion for instance, a deadly sin that grants excommunion, can be placed on Wrath as a murder but also at others like Pride and Lust.

We are born with the sin nature because of Adam and Eve's disobedience. Which means that everything we do and every thing we are is sin without the forgiveness of Jesus.
Sins are listed in the OT to show us that we can not keep from doing them. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior He declares us justified (just as if I had never sinned). Then after we are justified, we will still commit sins because we are human. He forgives us.
The more we know and love our Lord, Jesus, the more we submit to His authority. He has given Christians the Holy Spirit to lead and direct our lives. When we love Him and Obey Him, we sin less and less but there is always forgiveness for us.

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.
In other words, sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God.
Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:
- by participating directly and voluntarily in them;
- by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them;
- by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so;
- by protecting evil-doers.
Here are the seven holy virtues as opposites to the seven deadly sins. According to Dante's The Divine Comedy the sins have an order of greatness, and the virtues a respective order of greatness as well. This order is shown below from the lowest to the highest.
+ Holy Virtues +
Chastity (purity)
Moderation (self-restraint)
Generosity (vigilance)
Zeal (enthusiasm)
Meekness (composure)
Charity (giving)
Humility (humbleness)
+ Deadly Sins +
Lust (inappropriate desire)
Gluttony (over-indulgence)
Greed (avarice)
Sloth (laziness)
Wrath (anger)
Envy (jealousy)
Pride (vanity)
The history of this list goes back at least to Pope St. Gregory the Great and St. John Cassian, but while the list itself is not strictly biblical, the Bible proscribes all seven.

Just one as far as God is concerned - that You believes in His Son Jesus and His death on your behalf.
Not believing Him is the SIN - the rest are just secondary and consequences of not believing.
