7UP or any other lemon/lime type drink often will help an upset stomach or nausea. It is the combination of the lime or lemon and the carbonization (the gas bubbles) in the drink. Gingerale always worked better for me.
Much like the early years of Coke a Cola when it was used for headaches because it actually contained small amounts of Cocaine.

Ginger ale would be better since it contains ginger which eases nausea. But Sprite or 7-Up can also help if someone has been throwing up a lot and having trouble keeping even liquids down. Just stir it up a bit to get some of the carbonation out. There's no magic or science here really; it's just that it's a liquid that's fairly well-tolerated even by someone with a queasy stomach. Gatoraid is also good and has the advantage of also containing electrolytes.

Growing up I was also told that 7up helps your stomach, but my daughter just got her wisdom teeth out and her doc said that if she gets sick to her stomach to have her drink a cola drink or ginger ale. Something in the cola syrup helps, as well as the carbonation in the ginger ale. I'm not sure why though. It's probably the same with the 7 up.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Actually I don't think it's the 'bubbles' that's why they tell you to drink flat 7 up, sprite, or gingerale. I've read citrus helps soothe upset stomachs which may be part of the reason.

Well really it is all the bubbles in it and all the fizz that calm your stomach down. Really it could be the lime stuff too because coke doesn't seem to do it for your stomach

It never helped mine. It is just lemon-lime soda not an elixir of life.

No soda (which contains carbonic acid) is an antacid.
