Stress is inevitable and a normal process in life. Even events that are seemingly happy ones cause stress - like starting a new job, getting married, or expecting a new baby. We cannot avoid stress. Some things we can all do to reduce stress are:
1. Make sure you get adequate sleep. If you don't get at least 7-8 hours a sleep each night - your stress levels will continue to mount. If you cannot sleep (because of stress) - talk to your doctor - there are many new non-addictive sleeping medications to help for a few weeks until you gain better control.
2. Exercise. Thirty minutes a day can make all the difference in the world. Walking is a great stress reducer.
3. Eat right. Avoid caffeine - especially after 5 p.m. Make sure to eat fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Eat a balanced diet and it will help you gain a better control over your whole body and mind.
4. Have someone to talk to or write down your thoughts. "Getting it off your chest" can really help. Learn to let it go once you finished talking about it - move on - let go.
5. Relaxation or meditation. You can practice yoga, meditation, or even soak in a bubble bath. Do something you enjoy - listen to soft music or read a book you enjoy - main thing is to take time for yourself.

Good luck!

It really depends on your personality type. In the book "EAt by your blood type" it finally said what I have been saying all along, yoga does nothing for me to un-do stress. I must be physical, not sit still.so be sure to see "who you are' as each of us de-stresses differently, but being in nature is very good for me as well as athletic things

Katie,
Just don't care so much. in the big picture of life, what you are stressing out right now, will not really matter to much in the future. just chill out Katie just say to yourself
hoe deee doe doe" and smile
