Bg 10.4-5 P The Opulence of the Absolute
Satyam, truthfulness, means that facts should be presented as they are for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented. According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak the truth only when it is palatable to others. But that is not truthfulness. The truth should be spoken in a straight and forward way, so that others will understand actually what the facts are. If a man is a thief and if people are warned that he is a thief, that is truth. Although sometimes the truth is unpalatable, one should not refrain from speaking it. Truthfulness demands that the facts be presented as they are for the benefit of others. That is the definition of truth.

"Who are you?" "What do you want?" Two questions with very different roads to discovery, two different truths and very different paths. There are many methods for discovering truths, and I've got to hand it to cosmicvoyager for his notation of the observational factor in quantum mechanics (Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle notes that observation directly affects what is observed so as to change its behavior and make it essentially unobservable by direct means--thus we create indirect methods and weave wavefunctions and approximations to illustrate what the universe would look like when we're not looking at it--an amusing concept if you think about it.)
Intention and focus both point to a methodological mindset. Those who seek blindly may also find truth, but more than likely they will not recognize it and will operate as Heisenberg's unobserved particle/wave--part of the unconscious and ever-changing universe. A form of no mind, but unless it is observed by a methodical means, who will ever know? The method is for our minds; truth is everywhere and doesn't wait for someone to dig it up.

We think that we are subjective beings in an objective 'Universe', the 'truth' is the reverse, and this is, contrary to the opinions of many, a totally 'scientific' premise.
This 'science' is new, in fact it is 'cutting edge', and unfortunately for 'conservatist science', it's rather radical. I like radical, personally. :-)))
It's called quantum mechanics, the study of the behaviour of sub-atomic 'particles'. Some disturbing ( for the resistant to change amongst us ) indications show that it is the 'observer' who seems to determine the outcome of the experiment. It is the very act of 'observance' the pure act of science, to observe and measure, that now appears to 'collapse' the wave form, and invoke the particular. In short, all is energetic motion until we try to observe it, and then it becomes 'material'. This is suspiciously close to things appearing by 'magic' !
So ...... what are we going to do with 'scientific method', and the 'truths' that we observe ?
As BB says, maybe we just have to choose.

Path towards truth is pathless.
One may follow a particular method, but he may realise in some other method.

Truth is subjective claptrap.
Hitler's truth was the Jews were to blame for all the world's ills.
Truth is what you want it to be - doesn't mean it is accurate.
Honesty is objective - truth is subjective, and usually used to bad effect and manipulating ways by the religious people.
