What's the big deal. It's not like your life has to change to become a Catholic. You still get to observe all the 'holy'days that are derived from pagan practice, with a 'christian' spin on them. You still get to be part of the wordly systems.
So, ok, you WILL have to take part in some white magic practices of turning bread into Christ's body and wine into His blood, re-sacrifice the son of God every Sunday, but hey, it's not as bad as black magic or witchcraft, right?
Oh yeah, and then there's that pesky anti-christ, instead of christ, pope man.
Hey, wait a minute, don't tell them. Keep it a secret. Even I don't want to know, and I'm not even related.

It is hard to give advice other than tell them and get it over with. You are going to have to react based on how they take the news.
I thought my parents were going to flip when I lost my faith. I told them I didn't want to go to church anymore and that was the end of the conversation. I guess they either already figured it out, or didn't want to know it all.

You don't give us enough information to really help.
You don't say what his religious background is.
Presumably you're Catholic, is that right?
They should not be surprised if he's been with you.
A lot will depend on their current religious practices;
it'll depend on what they believe & how strongly.
There is a lot of misinformation spread by other religions.
Just look at some of the answers we get on here.

He just needs to tell them,straight out. Otherwise they'll figure it out on the wedding day and it'll be a big shock.

What religion do his parent follow?
What about you?
Have you looked closely at what the Bible says?

It would help if we knew what religion his parents are, and how active they are in it. Also, are you involved in this decision?
