Most of Christianity was borrowed from other older religions.

I find it hard to believe that the Creator judges anybody by their religion but rather by their quality as a humane human.

All faiths are true, and none are. Religion though is usually a godless business.

You are asking two questions here.
Question 2: Are they (Christians) trying to cover something up?
No. Christians are not trying to cover anything up.
Question 1: Why are all the Christian holidays on the same day as pagan holidays?
There are 2 reasons for this and both are linked.
During the "Dark ages" pagans were given a choice: Convert to Catholism or die. People 'converted' but their hearts weren't into it. As a result they continued to celebrate pagan holidays. The Catholic Church then changed the dates or created new 'holidays' that fell on these dates so that the celebrations could still be held but it looked like peoples hearts were for God. As time went on the pagan holidays waned or disappeared and the 'Christian' holidays rose to popularity. What we see today is the destruction of many of these holidays (like Christmas) as these 'new' meanings (like spending thousands of dollars on presents just so they look like good friends/parents/whatever.
Reason 2: While these holidays aren't really what they claim they are (like Christmas not really being the date of Jesus' birthday) they are symbolic of what they are trying to celebrate (ever wonder why certain holidays (like the Queens birthday in Australia) can fall on days that aren't the real day?). We don't know the exact date that Jesus was born but He was born and the Christmas holiday may not fall on the 'right' day but we celebrate it then because we can't put it back to when it really is. (Although Easter is as accurate as it can be considering the Jewish Passover holiday changes year to year and it is the Passover holiday that is as important as Jesus’ death as they both fulfil the prophecies of each other).

Hope that helps a little.

Yes some christian holidays are on pagan holidays. Cover up? perhaps but I think "dilute" is a better word to describe there intent. It was their attempt to take over that holiday and christianize it. Made it easier on the pallets of the pagan converts that came to Christ. I believe the Roman Catholic did this a couple times with Christmas and with Halloween. Interesting study.

The Christians wanted to convert the pagans, so they adopted many pagan holidays and traditions and gave them christian names. Worked for a while, till the inquisition.
This is why you have Christmas trees, giving gifts on Christmas (in fact, in the dark ages Christmas celebrations were banned for being "too pagan"), the Easter bunny, Easter eggs (fertility symbols of the spring equinox), even Halloween (which is all hallows eve, borrowed from the pagan Samhain, celebrating the last harvest and praying for the souls of the dead).

this was a particularly brilliant piece of propaganda on the part of the early church fathers which caused more pagans to convert to christianity. Basically it went like this:
The pagan holiday of Yule is celebrated in the middle of winter, on or around the winter solstice. When the christians came in to power, they said "Hey, pagan guys. You know Jesus was born around this tme of year, right? Well in our holy book it says we should have a party commemorating Jesus' birth. Wow, great party. Hey, you guys must ALREADY be christians! "

Yes If you read the Bible it say the shepards were out in the fields when Jesus was born. they are not out in the fields in December. Most so called christian holidays have a started out as pagan feast. the Catholic church put new christian meaning to them . Do keep studying and keep your faith in Jesus not religion

Christians thought it would be easier to force their religion on Pagans if they didn't fiddle with their existing holidays. Not only are most "Christmas" traditions Pagan in origin, Easter began as a festival honoring Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility - featuring flowers, eggs, and rabbits - all symbolic of sex and fertility.

I think Constantine started all that. He wanted to make Christianity desirable for the pagans so he mixed them. I believe he was the start of most of Christianity's problems.

when the church was first formed they needed to get people to celebrate the holidays. so what they did was change the pagan holidays into christian ones. like christmas, they say the Shepard's were sleeping outside. they wouldn't be doing that if it was winter.

properly, i think of your plan has a deadly flaw. in case you practice your toddlers that any faith will do, they're going to of course end that faith is optionally available. If faith is optionally available, then it actual won't have the capacity to be actual, because of the fact certainty is by no skill optionally available. So the only logical end your toddlers will make is to grow to be atheists. on an identical time as I celebrate with your prefer to be ecumenical, it may be far greater hassle-free and much less confusing to your toddlers to your husband and you to embark on a non secular quest of your person and are available to a pair solid conclusions approximately what's the reality. i be attentive to you're saying you think of you won't be able to be attentive to no be counted if or no longer God exists, yet whilst God does exist, oughtn't that be as much as God to be certain? could God no longer show God to you if there's a God?

Jesus was born on or before September 29, 5 BC. Winter solstice is usually 3 to 4 days before CHRIST mass, usually on the 20th or the 21
