Birth control pills contain estrogen and progesterone. There would probably not be too much effect from taking one, but taking them on a consistent basis could lead to the development of female secondary sex characteristics like breasts.

Well, a woman's birth control is synthetic hormones that trick the woman's body into thinking it is already pregnant, so that it does not ovulate and release an egg. If a man took a birth control pill, they would be putting womanly hormones into their body and it would send their's out of whack. It is hard to say what can happen exactly, but I would definitely NOT recommend it....
