I don't mean like a lucid dream, where you realize it's a dream and then you can do whatever you want. I mean, if you want to dream about a certain person, like your girlfriend or wife, could you concentrate on that person right before you sleep and then you will dream of them? Or am I completely wacko on this one?

Sometimes you can.

I've had dreams where I have just thought about the person and they are there suddenly. I guess thats kind of like controlling a dream.

I must be wacko as well. If I concentrate on what I want to dream about bfore I fall asleep, generally I dream about it. I cant control the content or the duration but I have had a few moments where I was scared to death and realised It must be a dream. Once I realised I was dreaming, I had complete control, but my level on conciousness was desturbred and I woke up just as it was getting the hang of things. I was trying to fly at the time.

There is some evidence to support that this is possible, but you can't control the context of the dream. The person may be in it, but not what is going on. You can control your reaction to events in dreams, much the same way you can while awake.

Good Luck.

Yes you can control your dream before you fall asleep but later during late at night you don't have control of it. You dream about that person but something else happens can't control the environment or the situation no longer.

Sometimes, if I'm really upset about a situation or person, I'll dream about it, but it's just a function of my emotional upset. I cannot choose to dream or not to dream about them.

In fact, it was really funny, that while I was dating my husband, I never dreamed about him. It took a few years before he invaded my dreams. My kids were there almost immediately and people were taking them or I was losing them, etc. Interesting, huh?

yes as what you dream about is usually waht you think about 2 hours before you sleep. It worked for me last night.
But usually for me if i try to dream i dont. So dont try! just let you mind wander before you sleep.
Also if you want to dream of a beach or sumfin , make the rooom you sleep in life a beach, higher heat, waves playing on your radio etc.! do you get me?? try doing that look at a picture of your wife beofre you sleep.

You would think it would work but it doesn't. Dreams are just composed of your various thoughts that go through your brain during the day. I tend to think that stressing about trying to dream about something would give you nightmares in general.

The trick is you have to know that your asleep.
But your dreams are usually about the last thing that goes through your mind before you go to sleep.

I don't really think it's possible but sometimes my friend tries it and it actually works for her.
