The Mescalero Apache are originally from South Texas and New Mexico, but many of them moved to Oklahoma during and after the Apache Wars.

One notable Mescalero was Victorio whose sister Lozen was a spiritualist and a warrior.

There isn't any specific mention of the Mescalero Apaches bring from Okla., but here's a good academic article about the tribe and the Inn of the Mountain Gods (on the reservation in NM, near Ruidoso) has good history info.
