"MISCONCEPTION #5:
All Muslims are Arabs

The Muslim population of the world is around 1.2 billion. 1 out of 5 people in the world is a Muslim. They are a vast range of races, nationalities, and cultures from around the globe--from the Phillipines to Nigeria--they are united by their common Islamic faith. Only about 18% live in the Arab world and the largest Muslim community is in Indonesia. Most Muslims live east of Pakistan. 30% of Muslims live in the Indian subcontinent, 20% in Sub-Saharan Africa, 17% in Southeast Asia, 18% in the Arab world, and 10% in the Soviet Union and China. Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan make up 10% of the
non-Arab Middle East. Although there are Muslim minorities in almost every area, including Latin America and Australia, they are most numerous in Russia and its newly independent states, India and central Africa. There are about 6 million Muslims in the United States.

Muslims can be any race. Race as well as Muslim as well as car are human constructs. We use the word race for lack of better descriptive word. Describing different types of dogs and horses the word breed is used.

Hello,

As you say the religion encompasses all races around the world. The Muslims in Indonesia are one of the larger segments of the population; far more than the Arabs.
It is just like asking what race do Roman Catholics belong to.

look....religion and race are two different things...

race is A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.

and religion is a philosophy...a way of living...a combined set of beliefs...

this two can never be combined...a person who is white can be a muslim as well as a person who is black can be muslim...this does not mean that they create a race...

white is Caucasian and black will be african americans...this are races

Note:- I did not mean to offend white people or black people...I was just trying to get my point through here...

Muslim refers to a religion which was started by a simple person who had a hard time to learn to read. He depended on others to read the Bible for him.
The religion has spread thru many countries and races. Hence we cannot atribute the religion to a particular race: Except it initiated in Arabia.

I knew all this already as does anyone with a modicum of education. And we all know that a religion is not a race even if such a thing as race exists.

There are no races in the human species.

Race is a false concept and has no grounding in the genetic reality of the human species. We are far more simlar than we are different.

Christians are not of one race either. You don't classify a religion into a race.
