for example, I say "I met Kobe Bryant", and say I'm kidding afterwards. Isn't that the same as lying?

No, because you told them them the truth that same moment afterwards and you didn't try to deny that you did. Lying is where you don't tell them that you're kidding.

It depends. If I said, "I am famous." and didn't admit that it was a joke afterwards then that would be lying but if I admitted it was a joke then it wouldn't be lying. Do you get the idea?

Be careful with jokes. Joking around may often lead to trouble. So keep it on the down low and say riddles instead. Lying is no good and always is humiliating to get caught. Jokes can be funny but also hurtful. Don't joke around other people. Joke about the weather or a made up character instead. SMILE!

I think that a joke turns into a lie after an hour of them not telling you its a joke.
