hmmmmm, I really like some of the answers here and gave thumbs up accordingly....
The law of entropy states that anything (especially a planet that is 'enemy occupied territory') on its own -- will ultimately decay. Think of a satellite. Regardless of how high we boost it up there; its orbit decays and it crashes somewhere. Unless we give it another boost.
And that is what God Almighty has done, time and time again.
IF Jesus had said 'no' I am not going to do that ! Then, we would be in worse shape than we are right now. And we are in terrible shape...not just the u.s. of a. but the entire planet. We are decaying...the u.s. especially is a 'culture of death' and the entire planet is in decadence (or worse). The definition of decadence, by the way, is: when a society accepts futility and absurdity as the norm; said society is a goner.
We Christians are the 'salt of the earth' WE hold back the decay just a little bit. If only the deists and atheists were around; the world would be much more violent and chaotic.
Did you know that the Holy Spirit "holds back lawlessness" and is being withdrawn from that job, as I write? And Jesus said, "because lawlessness is increased exponentially (literary license, mine LOL) ...most (not all) but most women and men's love for the Kingdom will grow cold". Scary ...huh?
I can hear your rebuttal now: Prove that deists and atheists would do a worse job! May I point out, that 'they' and their selfish, no god beliefs are precisely why we are in the mess we are in. Yes, some were dressed as priests and pastors. Yes, some were in high finance and big corporations. Yes, some 'said' they were christians; but, they were lying. They all were 'slaves to sin' and puppets of the puppet master (read, the god of this world).

Your statement and defining reason for why we should not believe in God is because he cannot control creation...
Which is an entirely different question to how can he lead you to salvation...
Firstly this question is not very well thought out.. the two barely connect...
God has allowed His creation man to do as he wants, there are some who obey and are his children. God can intervene when we ask him and it fits his purpose, because God doesn't doesn't mean he can't.
How can God lead me to salvation - well that is really easy - he wrote the rules... He made the way to salvation, he informed us of the hindrances to salvation and he made a way back...
This world is not "only chaos"... if it is then how can you reason the why of the world?
I hope that wasn't robotic, or filled with biblical quotes but what I know in my heart to be true...
Have a brilliant day - I hope that whatever you do you succeed.

God has a plan for everyone and he has planned everything out. No matter what it is. The war in Iraq is part of the apocilps that is coming, it was predicted in the bible thousands of years ago and now it's happening. Yeah God is hurt when people sin, but eve took the bite out of damn apple and adam stood there and did nothing and took a bite out of it after as well. God can control his creation, he can do what ever the hell he wants to, he made the whole universe, so he can destroy it anytime he wants to. He has so much love though that he is willing to forgive everyone for their sins, so he doesn't have to start over everytime that someone sins. As for the whole God has a plan for everyone, he knows you will experince pain on Earth, but it's those times when you come to him that makes you closer to him. That's when you you're like i'm a selfish bastard, i'm weak, and i need your help. Through those things do you become a better and stronger person. Finally in the end when you die, you will go to heaven which is where you will be in an eterinty of happiness, instead of rotting in hell. I hope that helps if it doesn't email me. I know what you mean by people who sound like robots.

Chaos is well,.. chaos because we've taken it apon ourselves to try to control our own lives. I understand what you mean though. It seems as if there is no order in the world. People are killing each other, wars are beginning, the world we live in is a crazy place. Let me say this though. If there is no God, there are no morals. You've already said that the world is chaos... humans cant control themselves, and you say that God cant control them either. So therefore, if there are no morals, no accountability for the things we do, no eternity, no God, then what stops me from killing the next person I see?
Hey, after thinking about this.. I like the idea of that. There can be no God. There is no God. I am accountable to no one. I can do anything I want to do. You've convinced me!! I will live this life in anyway I want to live it.. nothing is off limits to me now! There is no life after death, there is no punishment for my "sins." I will live my life the way I want to here. I'm not sure about the descions I make, but hey, I am my own god, so why not? Then I will die and... well, I'm not entirely sure. But heck, I had fun on earth.

God "can't control creation?" That's news to me. You say no Bible quotes and at the same time refer to something biblical. The fact that you have the misconception that God "can't control creation", and that you don't want to hear any Biblical quotes, tells me that you do not understand not only the creation, but the world around you. The world is not Chaos. it is full of order. Part of that order is that if you do certain things then certain things will happen to you. (I know that you said that you didn't want any scriptural quotes, but I don't know of any better way to put it so hear you go) "And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon"
So in answer to your question "How can you have faith in a god that can't control creation? How can he lead you to salvation ? when there is only chaos."
Simple we do not misunderstand him, and are not living our lives in such a way that we are tossed about by the events of the world around us.

"And before you jump to conclusions I'm an athesit."
...so it's okay for you to jump to conclusion about others -that Christians are drones, and not human beings?
Why should God control creation? The so called 'chaos' you see is due to free will given to human beings by God.
Is chaos so bad?
Try and read up on the *scientific* theory of chaos, my young friend. Perhaps God did allow this 'chaos' because 'chaos' is good, as God is good and He only wants good for human beings.
Btw, is it fair to answer without the bible? Conversely, can you answer a question about the 'Big Bang' without reference to scientific material?
Stay cool.

I look at the world and see the majesty of what God created! He is in total control. I don't need the Bible to believe that something made this earth. There's no way any being but an all powerful God could have possibly come up with even the Human DNA.

God is omnipotent. God is all powerful. Chaos and controlling creation, huh? Those are because of the freedom that God has bestowed upon men. There is chaos because some men, in their own free will, chose to do bad things. God does not force people. See, he even let you choose to be an atheist...
Faith is believing in an all-powerful and omnipotent God. It is standing up to people like you.

well if thats the case and there is no god, then why are we having this discussion then? why are there wars? what makes humans believe there are gods? How come all the rulers are for greed when they get the powerful, you expect any "salvation" from them? And the next question would be, not if god cant control creation, rather why can't man control themselves?

The same way Atheists can have FAITH that god does NOT exist...
He can lead you to Salvation anyway he wants... he is a god
Chaos? From the eyes of an Atheists things seem chaotic... from the eyes of a Christian things are very much under his control... Besides... How do YOU know that he isn't in control??? are YOU omniscient? I didn't think so.
I would hate to be an Atheist... must be very confusing
